Chapter 3

John.pov
I woke up to being moved inside the hospital.

"What's going on?" I weakly ask

"He's awake someone give him amnesia for surgery." Someone yelled

Surgery surgery for what? And why does my ribs hurt so bad and so does my hand and head.

I almost remembered what happened before I fell back to sleep.

Peggy.pov
"Right, um John Laurens?" She said uncertainly but continued "He fell out the tree and it seems like his hand was broken before hand. He has to go under surgery they should be starting now. It should be done in one hour. He'll be sleeping but not for long."

The nurse walked away and everyone sighed in relief and started to relax a bit but it didn't last for long. About 30 minutes in when I was drifting asleep alarms start going off and everything was flashing. Nurses and doctors started running I stopped one and ask.

"What's going on?"

"Umm... something went wrong in room 1776."

That's Johns room

The doctor went back to what he was doing. I went back to my sit crying.

"Peggy what's wrong?" Laf ask

"This- this is all for him." I said gasping between wrongs.

Everyone gasped and started crying again besides Alex he face was just shocked. I put my hands in my head.

Surprisingly a doctor came by several minutes later to give us an update.

"Hello," He says getting my attention "The news about Jen- erm John. As you saw there was a problem with the surgery but he is alright but he had slipped into a coma and we don't know when he could wake up you guys can see him if you want."

My face dropped at into a coma. My new bff which I never really had is in a coma for who knows how long. Tears threatened to fall but I refused to let it happen.

We all walked with the doctor into John's room. John was peacefully laying in bed asleep of course. My heart broke I haven't seen John at peace but I know it shouldn't be on a death bed.

"Oui oui my poor poor John." Laf cried

"It's my fault I shouldn't have let him climb that tree with his hand like that or-" I got cut off

"That's where it becomes all of our faults not just yours and we should have known better especially since John is known for fragile bones." Herc sadly said

Time skip brought to you by my vacation time

It's been days and John haven't woke up I've haven't gone home I've haven't showered I don't think none of us had. No one from his family had visited besides his siblings Martha and Henry. Martha told me she didn't tell her other siblings because they are too young and shouldn't experience this. And I understand that. But why isn't John mom or dad come here to see him.

Alex, Laf, and Herc was still asleep when I was woken up hearing someone whisper Peggy.

"Peggy... Peggy ..." Someone whispered yelled

I open my eyes to see John trying to get my attention.

"John Omg you are awake!-" I was cut off by John shushing me.

"Peggy shh I'm going to pretend I'm sleeping and wake up when they are talking to me." John whispered

"Ok well I'm going to get some coffee. Go pretend you are sleeping so I can wake them up." I whispered yelled excitedly. He closed his eyes and went back to the position he was in before.
