Cain and I were going on a date!
I'd had a crush on him for the longest time, when he finally asked me to go on a date with him butterflies erupted in my stomach.
Jen obviously didn't approve and she didn't hesitate to show it. She had been acting like a bitch all day. But who cares about her opinion?
I ran over to look in the mirror on my vanity, touching up my lipstick. I had gone with a natural look consisting of brown eyeshadow, mascara, not much foundation and a nude lipstick.
I was wearing a light grey, summer dress. The flowy material reached mid thigh and was strapless. I had been saving it for a special occasion. I think this occasion was acceptable.
I paired the dress with a simple pair of white flats.
I had taken a lot of time on my hair, carefully curling each long, brown strand to perfection and pinning my bangs back away from my face, I had been thinking about dying my hair red for a while though.
I was almost ready to go. My Dad was going to drop me off at Cain's house before leaving to go to work. My Dad was surprisingly okay with me going on dates and meeting guys.
I had no idea where Cain and I were going but I hoped it wouldn't be anything physical because this dress would not be a fun thing to deal with.
It had taken me a two whole hours to get ready, I wanted to look good for my first date ever.
I grabbed my shoulder clutch that was white to match my shoes and jogged down the stairs, where my Dad was waiting for me.
He flashed me a smile when I reached the bottom of the stairs.
"You look beautiful, sweetheart. Now let's hurry up so neither of us are late" And with that he grabbed his keys from the counter top and we were out the door.
The car journey was quite short but it felt like hours. I was so nervous yet really excited to go on my date with Cain. I played with my thumbs in my lap as I thought of all the things Cain could have planned for us.
My thoughts were interrupted when the car came to a halt outside of the biggest house I had ever seen. It was like a full-on mansion with a huge front garden too.
"Have fun sweetie, your Mom'll be here to pick you up at eight. See you later!" My Dad hurried his words, as he was already running late for work.
"Bye!" I hugged him before stepping out of the passenger door and shutting it behind me.
He sped off as soon as I closed the door, leaving me alone outside of this huge house.
He worked a lot, so did my Mom. I was often left home alone with my sister due to this but I didn't mind. We liked the tranquility.
I approached Cain's doorstep, double checking the house number. He had sent me his address over text message and if I read it correctly, this was definitely the right house.
As I rang the doorbell, I could feel my heart beating in my chest. I waited in anticipation.
A few seconds passed before the door opened to reveal a middle-aged woman that was wearing an orange apron and had her brown hair tied up in a neat bun.
"Oh! Hello honey, you must be Hazel?" She greeted me warmly, stepping aside so that I could go inside.
"Yeah, I am. Nice to meet you" I smiled brightly.
