I can't fall asleep for some unknown reason tonight, it's as if I was too aware of everything around me. Yet, I'm not... instead I'm admiring the beauty that lies next to me with her head on my arm and one of her arm stretched over my chest. Every now and then her hand will move as if to make sure I'm still here. She looks so beautiful and peaceful. Her full lips just inches away... her high cheekbones shine in the moonlight and her hair looks like it black... even her button nose is beautiful.

I'm pulled away from admiring her by a snap of a twig in the bushes. I snap my head in the direction of the noise, only to see nothing but the dark. I slowly take the girls arm off my chest and place her head carefully on the grass. I then stand up and look around. I don't see anything but the dark bushes. I hear someone step and leafs break under the weight. I snap my head towards the noise and this time I spot the eyes of Jason Pipe. I relax a little, only to become more tense than before remembering that his daughter is asleep behind me. His eyes look at her and then snap at me, anger filling them. I stand my ground as he walks out from the bushes.

"Care to explain, Alexander King," he says glaring at me.

"It's not what it looks like, sir," I say quickly yet quietly.

"Then what does it look like?" He demands.

"I..." I try to come up with something, but come up empty handed.

"To me it looks like you are planning to hurt my little girl," he says and walks to me.

"I assure you sir, I would never do that," I say not moving.

"Then what are you doing?" He says and when he makes it to me I realise I'm a few feet smaller than him.

"We were talking-..." he cuts me off.

"About what?"

"Her mother and mine."

He doesn't say anything.

"She told me what happened and I've been comforting her... is that so bad?" I ask.

"I forbid you from seeing her," he orders.

A pang of pain goes through me.

"You know that won't stop us... the prophecy will-..."

"I don't believe in the prophecy and neither does she."

"Then why did she trust me enough to tell me about her mother?" I ask pushing my luck.

"I don't know," he says stepping too close to me. "She's as unpredictable as her mother was."

"So?" I ask.

"So, I don't care if she trusts you!" He shouts. "I forbid you two to meet!"

"What's going on?" I hear her voice from behind me. "Dad?"

"We're leaving, young lady," Jason says and doesn't break eye contact with me.

"But-..." she tries to argue, but her father gives her a pointed look and she lowers her head as she stands to her feet. "Yes father."

She walks away a little before looking back at me apologetically. After a few moment her father follows after her. I wait until I can't hear their yelling and fall to the ground. I punch the ground creating a large hole and I yell in frustration. I let my tears fall hating that she's made me feel the most vulnerable I've ever felt. Why does nothing go the way I'd like it to for once?

I walk to the building reluctantly when the sun began to rise. I walk inside and go straight for my room. I grab new clothes and head towards my bathroom. I have a shower and enjoy the feeling of my muscles relax. I get out after washing my body and hair. I look at myself in the mirror and grimace at the sight of me. I have dark bags under my eyes and I have a little bit of a beard growing. I shave my face and realise that my clothes are on my bed. I open my door looking down at the phone I was given when I came here. I have 32 messages from Hayden and 15 missed calls. I look up from my phone and see Jason's daughter standing by the door, watching me. I stop in my tracks and stare at her with wide eyes. We stare at each other for what seems to feel like minutes.

"Umm... hi," I say and wave a little before throwing my phone onto my bed.

"Hello," she responds with a smile. One that warms my heart and make me want to hold her for years.

"Uh... can I help you?" I ask feeling a little awkward.

"No... I just want to see you."

I nod and grab my clothes. I notice that my hoodie is missing and I frown.

"What's wrong?" She asks.

"My hoodie is missing..." I say and look through my pile of clothes again.

She doesn't say anything and I look over at her to see her with a poker face. I just grab my jeans and underwear and head to my bathroom. I change in there before coming back out. I notice her sitting at my desk doing something.

"What are you doing?" I ask and walk to her.

"Hmm?" She hums and turns around to see me towering over her, looking at the drawing she started.

"What were you drawing?" I ask and step a little back to give her space.

"Nothing," she says and close my sketchbook.

"You sure about that?" I ask smirking at her. "I thought I saw a little bit of a drawing."

"I'm sure," she says smiling at me.

"Okay," I say and walk away to my closet. "Can I ask you something?"

"You just did."

I laugh and shake my head as I grab one of my hoodies.

"How come your dad knew what size I am?"

"I was a spy watching you, and little do you know I snuck into your bedroom more than once and reported back to my father what kind of style you had or wanted."

I nod only to frown after.

"Wait does that mean..."

"I went through every draw? Yes, I did."

I look at her a little horrified. All she does is laugh, creating music to my ears.

"I'm going to need a lock on my door..." I mutter, causing her to laugh harder.

I sit on my bed smiling as I watch her try to stop laughing. How someone could be so beautiful and seem to be oblivious, I can never know.

"So," she speaks after she sobers. "What is it that you do for fun?"

"What do you mean?" I ask and tilt my head a little.

"What do you do when your bored?"

"Sketch..."

"Is that it?"

"its all I've been able to do, besides from train for..." everything stops. "I need to get to Hayden."

She frowns as I quickly strip off my jeans and put on sweatpants, bolting out the door.

••••

"Hayden!" I call out to him as he paces around the hallway.

His head snaps up to me and I notice dark bags under his eyes. His hair is all over the shop and he looks like he needs a shower.

"Alex!" He shouts in disbelief and runs to me.

Once he reaches me, he engulfs me in a hug. I laugh a little and hug him back.

"Don't you dare run off like that again..." he says as he pulls away. "I thought you were dead!"

He punches me and I laugh.

"Jeez, sorry."

"Apology will be accepted after 25 laps, 30 push-ups, 20 sit-ups and 10 jumping jacks," he says patting my shoulder.

"Ouch," I say placing a hand on my heart.

"Oh suck it up, now go."

"Sir, yes, sir!" I shout and start towards the fields.

"Run you fool!" Hayden demands me.

"Says the one who knows what a hello kitty is!" I fire back and when I hear his footsteps go faster I bolt towards the fields.
