song that i find necessary for the chapter ^

Taron's P.O.V

I find it incredible how talented Y/N is without even processing it.

The way she chooses to use her voice, I really have no idea what it is but something-

Something magical happens whenever she begins to sing.

Therefore, I don't understand why she decides to debate against me and avoid any chance possible at showing everyone else this skill.

It was always the same excuses- "I'm unprepared", "I don't feel like it" or "I'm not ready".

But I've known her for too long. I'm the one who stood outside her room with her mum to listen to her sing.

I'm the one who found her songs/music folder, all ready for a live performance.

I'm the one who knows she's completely 'ready' to show everyone what she's made of.

Y/N's not unprepared. She does feel like it, she always does. She is ready.

But she's terrified. Whether that's of rejection, failure or even herself I'm unsure of. But no matter how hard she tries, she can't fool me.

She really does love music more than most things. It's her true passion. And I can tell while everyone else is getting their life on track she's itching at whatever chance she can get that she won't back away from.

Y/N's only ever sung in front of her parents and in front of me.

Tonight however, things will be different.

For Y/N's sake, I need to make things different.

"Mum you promised that story was to go untold." Y/N mutters after her mum finishes an embarrassing story of Y/N singing in the shower when guests were over.

The table is shaking with laughter. I asked her and her mum if they wanted to go out for dinner for once and just catch up, but really I'd been planning this for a while now.

This bar does karaoke regularly, but convincing Y/N to do that was completely out of the picture by now. Fortunately, people come to perform every once in a while and the owners are always welcoming.

So I'd called and asked if someone could play tonight earlier today. I called her mother afterwards and got her to bring her guitar and songbook, then, "completely randomly", I asked Y/N and her mother to dinner.

I've been going to this bar for a while now since one of my mates showed me it, but Y/N's never been. She's unaware that people play here often.

"But Y/N bub, it's very much entertaining." Her mum admits, wrapping her arm around her reddening daughter. I continue to chortle. I love her mum.

"I disagree. Anyway, have you decided what you'd like to eat Taron? I think I'm going for the spaghetti while mum's already ordered the embarrassing nostalgia platter." I cackle at her words while her mum winks, shaking her head and looking down to the menu with a giggle.

"Yeah, I reckon the Parma looks good." I answer, skimming over the menu quickly before placing it down. I grin across the table at Y/N. "You look lovely tonight." It's true, she looks amazing.

All she wore was a red and black flannel matched with black skinny jeans. But she made it work so effortlessly. My smile grows when I see the ring I got her for Christmas on her finger.

Y/N hates jewellery.

She notices my stare at her hand and flushes before grinning. "Thank you T. Feel flattered because this is one of the only items of jewellery I don't refuse to wear." She comments, laughing at my wink. I look over to Y/M/N, staring between the two of us intently with a smirk on her face. What's that woman thinking?
