❝ 𝐒𝐏𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐘 𝐌𝐄𝐄𝐓𝐒 𝐌𝐘𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐎 ❞THE PHONE CALL with Aunt May was unsettling, hearing the overzealous remarks of how glad she was to have packed Peter's Spider-Man costume. Peter simply wanted time away from being the friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man. He just wanted to enjoy his vacation with his friends. Hang up the phone, he returns to where his other classmates gathered, watching the news report of the the flying green hero who saved the city from the water monster. He hears the awes of his classmates, hearing how cool this new hero was. All were impressed except for Flash Thompson. He acknowledged the fact that this hero who they now dubbed as Mysterio saved them but he wasn't as interested as the others.
"I mean he's no Spider-Man." Flash shrugged. Peter couldn't help the cocky smile on his face after hearing that remark. A figure appeared next to him, seeing it was Misty. He watches as the female rests her hands on her sides, hearing what Flash just said.
"So, you're a fan of Spider-Man?" Misty asked.
"I mean the dude protects the neighbourhood and they are inspiring. Isn't that right, dickwad?" Flash looks towards Peter's direction. The male just groaned to himself. If only Flash knew. Peter wondered how the guy would react knowing someone like Peter Parker was actually Spider-Man.
"Still taunting Peter as usual, Flash?" Misty shakes her head before heading upstairs. Peter instinctively grabs her wrist, pulling her to the side to talk. He notices the bruising on her forehead, a sense of worry overwhelming him. He brushes his fingers along the bruise, soon realising what he was doing before backing away.
"You okay?" Peter asked.
"I bruise easier than expected." Misty lightened the mood.
"You disappeared after we split up. Ned did not know where you were." Misty did not want Peter to know about Artemis or Fury.
"I had to get the other civilians to safety." It was not completely a lie.
"I know it weird between us after everything that has happened with Thanos. I worry about you." Peter sighed. Misty slightly chuckled. Peter never really changed. She used to find the incessant worrying bothersome and used to lash out at Ned for behaving such a way. However, she finally understood.
"You're still the same Peter I've always known." Misty smiled.
"You're still the same Misty, just less angsty." Peter chuckled.

PETER BRUSHED HIS TEETH in front of the mirror in his shared bedroom in the hotel. He listens to Ned half heartedly, continuing to stare at the mirror. Silence soon fills the room, Peter noticing the lack of Ned's voice. He looks back to see an incapacitated Ned, a tranquilliser dart sticking out from his neck.
