This chapter is unedited. Because I tried to publish it on yesterday night, but due to some network issues, it wasn't working. So, I'll edit this one once it's finally published.
Aakriti’s POV:
I came out of parking and stood in the middle of the lawn inside Raichand headquarters’ premises. Breathing in the fresh cool air, thinking about our current situation. Our as in Anvay and mine. We must be in an awkward phase. After he confessed his love for me, I was shocked. Actually shocked would be an understatement. I was flabbergasted. For full five minutes, no one said anything. I was simply staring at his eyes and I could see many emotions swirling in those dark brown irises. Anticipation, longing, anger, fear, and much more but love being the most prominent of them all. Love for me. I have always liked him, but never expected him to feel something. Turns out to be him being the one having deeper feelings for me. I couldn’t form words. I just wanted to stare in those beautiful eyes for eternity. But I came out of the stance I seemed to be in and realised the situation. I broke the eye contact with utmost difficulty. I again looked at him and saw disappointment and sadness in his eyes. I don’t know if I love him or not, but I surely knew that I can’t see him in this state. It pained me. “Anvay. Look, I can’t lie in this matter even if it can make you happy. It will hurt both of us at the end, maybe you more. But right now, I’m telling the truth. I like you. I really do. Very much. But I’m not sure if love you or not. I’m sorry.” I looked down. I can’t face him. “Hey, hey. Look at me.” He lifted my chin and made me look in his eyes. “You like me. And that’s something that makes me so happy. At least it’s not like you refuse to love me. You’re just not sure if you love me or not, right?” I nodded. “Then I’ll make you fall in love with me. I don’t even want to get you just like that without even trying. What will I tell my children when they’ll ask me about my love story?” I chuckled at that. “Now, no need to be sad. Let’s go eat something. I’m hungry as hell and I also have to go back tonight. We don’t have much time.” He checked his watch. “One hour max.” “You are not going back tonight Mr.Anvay Raichand. You can’t just go back without even enjoying Ahmedabad’s hospitality. I won’t allow it.” “No Aakriti-” “I refuse to let you go.” “Arey, but-” “Shut up.” “Okay okay. Let’s do one thing. We go to eat wherever you want. I’ll come with you without complaining. But I have to go back at night.” “But-” He put his finger on my lips. “Shh. Listen to me first. I have a meeting with the dealers of some of the parts for the satellite. Execution team needs them as soon as possible. Or they won’t be able to continue.” Oh. “You know, I am dying to spend time with you, but I also have to leave tonight because the meeting is at 8 am sharp and I’ll have to catch some sleep before that.” I blushed at that but I looked down so he couldn’t see it. “Okay. But we’re going to where I’m taking you right now.” “As you say madam.” I chuckled at that and started walking towards the exit. “Wait.” He stopped me by holding my hand. I looked at him questioningly. “I want to ask you something.” I nodded for him to continue. “Aakriti Parekh, Will you allow me to court you?” Oh. I blushed furiously and nodded. “Thank you so much Aakriti. I mean it. You made me so happy. Thank you for letting me in.” We left the place with smiles on our faces. We went to eat and then he left for Mumbai. I went to Garba that night. I’ll always regret that I couldn’t take him there with me. I came back yesterday, a day after those events. And from today I’m resuming my work at Raichand’s. I just hope situations don’t get awkward.
