Boruto trudged behind Sarada and Mitsuki who showed no signs of being tired making him sigh and complain to himself about wanting to take a break, they had been walking for hours due to missing the train. "This is your fault ya know... Consider this your punishment. They told us there would only be one train to Konoha today and you had to sleep in and make us miss the train... Now we have to walk and pray that another village has a train going to our village." She sighed and fiddled with her glasses obviously still mad at him about earlier that morning. Mitsuki said nothing and simply smiled back at Boruto who gave an annoyed tired look. "I already apologized! Let it go and could we please take a break! My feet are killing me!" Sarada gave a huff then plopped down on a log. "Fine..." Mitsuki sat between them and humming he enjoyed traveling and seeing new sights. Sarada and Boruto were always amusing to travel with they acted like an old married couple sometimes and though he couldn't really understand he found it fun to watch. "It's been a nice day." Sarada glanced around at the sky and nodded in agreement with a content face. They stayed a moment longer resting their tired feet before they began to walk again. Mitsuki saw the train tracks and watched them as Boruto stared at the sky. The mission was a success they should be celebrating with hamburgers but instead they were walking home. He wondered how Konohamaru was doing on his mission. He thought of how happy Himawari would be too see him and it made him smile until rain came pouring down to the point they couldn't see the direction they were going in making them take shelter in a near by cave. Sarada made a fire for them to dry themselves and they all huddled around as the rain came down. Mitsuki watched the heavy water drip down. "I like the rain." "Now it's even going to take longer to get back! This sucks!" Boruto mumbled. "We will explain everything to lord seventh when we return, he'll understand. Things happen. He is very understanding leader." Sarada claimed only to have the blonde scoff. "Like he'll even notice we are gone...." Lightning flashed before anyone could say anything making them all jump slightly. Sarada sighed. "It's getting worse the wind is even picking up so it doesn't look like we are going anywhere..." They tried to wait the storm out but soon dozed off to sleep due to the rain's music and boredom it rained for hours but Mitsuki woke them when the storm blew over. The dirt floors were muddy and somewhat flooded but they continued their way to Konoha.
Sarada did her best to avoid the mud not wanting to report back to the Hokage filthy and dirty. Mitsuki hummed quietly as he jumped over the puddles and made a little game about not steping in the puddles but Boruto simply walked through them not caring knowing he would be take a bath when he got home, a long nice bath. The skies were once again clear and it looked like they were traveling in the opposite direction of the storm due to the soaked ground they walked on. "I can't wait to take a hot bath and relax." Sarada gave a stretch wondering if her mother would be home cooking something yummy to warm her up when she arrived in Konoha. She hoped her father would be back soon to teach her more Uchiha techniques and spend family time with her and Sakura. She knew it would make her more happy. Mitsuki knew his kitten friend Mikazuki would be happy to see him and would probably have a bit of a lazy day once he is returned from his mission to spend time with Mikazuki. Boruto looked forward to having a hamburger and playing video games with Shikadai. He brought back a souvenir from Iwa for Himawari and was eager to give it to her he knew how much she look forward to getting a little something from each of his assignments in a different village. He thought his dad probably wouldn't notice they were late and was in no hurry to report back to him making him walk slower as he began to day dream. Sarada noticed and grew annoyed with his pace. "Did you get stuck in quick sand? Lets go! You might not wanna go home but we do... I can't have my mom worry." Boruto sighed and did as she asked not wanting to make her angry. "We still have a long way to go and the rain didn't help." Mitsuki claimed. "It will be dark soon." "We don't need to take more breaks... We took a nap during the storm. we will be fine for now. we have to try to make it as far as we possibly can before taking another break." Sarada stated. Mitsuki agreed but Boruto had no comment he didn't agree but didn't feel like arguing with her either which left him silent. They never had to travel on foot long distance anymore due to the trains, the trains had been built to connect the great five nations not only did it symbolize there trust and peace but also to make trade easier to transport as well as people. they had grown use to not having to walk everywhere now which made traveling back hard. Boruto hoped they'd see another train but so far they had no luck. It was Sarada's idea to fallow the tracks which he had to admit was clever and Mitsuki didn't disagree, they had been fallowing the tracks for most of the way due to them missing their train.
