chapter 7: dreams of nightmares

Boruto woke the next morning and ate breakfast. He was still feeling swore from his match with Yuhi and was a bit of a swore loser as well. Rakurai did his best to cheer him up with cheesy jokes and funny stories. Sakura left early that morning for the hospital leaving Nobara to cook, it was rare she had the chance to cook by herself and happy cooked for Boruto, Rakurai and her dad. Naruto touched her head, "thanks for cooking! You'll need to be careful your mom will get jealous of your skills in the kitchen." He chuckled making her smile. "Dad after school can I go to Shikatani's place? They have a new baby deer and I wanna check it out!" "If it's okay with Temari but be back by dinner. We are going out for ramen!" Rakurai nodded and left for school with a happy wave bye. "I should take Sekigetsu and Yuhi some riceballs for break after training." Nobara voiced. "That's sweet of you! I'm sure they would appreciate it." Naruto smiled as he washed the dishes. "Kaede usually makes us lunch. Konohamaru likes to visit her after training but I'm sure she won't mind." Nobara replied, "I'll make her some too." Boruto watched them. It was obvious Naruto was close with his children and had a close bond with him. He felt jealousy boil inside him until Naruto ruffled his hair, "you are stuck with me today unless you have other plans so what do you want to do?" "Aren't you needed at work?" Boruto asked. "Well a clone is looking over treaties, letters and other paper work but I don't have a meeting today so I'm not necessarily needed at the tower unless we hear back from your friend and the scientist." Naruto explained. I'm usually not around the tower unless I'm needed for a meeting when it gets closer to the chunin exam I'm going to be a little more busy with having to get ready for that but that's months away so I have time. I usually spend my time in the village walking around and seeing what the people need. It's the best way to connect to them don't ya know. I won't know what's going on in my village if I'm stuck in an office." He smiled. "Sounds less lame then with my old man would do I'll tag along..." Boruto smiled making Naruto nod before they left after a short goodbye to Nobara. They walked the village and Naruto talked to the villagers they looked happy to see him. Boruto watched their interaction until the villagers smiled at them. "You took on an apprentice? How nice." Naruto rubbed his neck and laughed but didn't reply before waving and leaving to talk to others. "Why did my mom get with Sasuke? Didn't you care about her?" He asked with a mutter. Naruto smiled at him and looked to the sky. "When I first met Hinata, I thought she was a weirdo but I learned she was a strong and kind person but despite how she felt I didn't see it until it was too late. She fell in love with Sasuke unexpectedly from the attention he gave her that I never did. My heart always belong to Sakura. I thought she was amazing from the first time I saw her as a kid, we had just started the academy and I didn't even know her yet but the determination I saw her have as she punching a tree wanting to get stronger... She was amazing... It only grew as time went on. She returned my feelings in time and here we are." Boruto glanced away. "My old man doesn't spend much time with Mom now... She's sad and lonely." Naruto ruffled his hair, "he had to spend time with her at some point. She had you and your kid sister after all... Hinata is understanding, I'm sure she understands. I'm sure he will spend time with her soon and you too for that matter. Your village is probably dealing with alot of things we aren't right now." Boruto sighed, "yeah... I guess... I wanna go check on Sarada. I'll catch up with you later." Naruto gave a nod and continued to walk around his village, checking on his people.

Boruto went to the Uchiha-Hyuga Estate. He knocked on the door and Ko answered. He raised his brow at Boruto obviously not pleased to see him. "Yes?" "Is Sarada here?" He sighed and nodded, "yes Lady Sarada is with Lady Sakiyuki..." Boruto rubbed the back of his neck. "well... Is Hinata home?" "No she is at the academy, she teaches classes on eye dojutsu there twice a week." Ko replied. Boruto gave a nod "thanks!" The blonde ran off and Ko shut the door and returned his attention to little Minku who was in his play pin. Sarada sat in a meditating room with Sakiyuki eyes closed and body relaxed as incense burned. She took slow steady breathes before Sakiyuki smiled and sighed. "Alright. That's enough for today. I have to go meet Orochi." Sarada smile at her, "thanks for doing this with me." "No problems. Yu and Asa should be home now, when I get back I'll help you finish setting up your room." Sakiyuki replied and left her. Sarada put her glasses back on and left the room. Yuhi and Asahi were home and were feeding each other Dango in one of the dining rooms. She watched them before Asahi pointed a dango stick at her, "here." She smiled and sat down with them. "We are going for a walk. Do you want to join?" Sarada nodded. "Yes. I should stretch my legs." The dining room grew quiet as they ate before they went for a walk on the edge of Konoha. Asahi and Yuhi held hands as they walked. Sarada walked next to Yuhi, he was a nice sunny day with a light breeze and shade from the trees. The walk was quiet. She glanced around taking in the scenery until the twins stopped she was confused at first until Yuhi grabbed her and pull her behind them. Rouge ninja surrounded them. Yuhi activated his Sharingan while Asahi activated his Byakugan before charging at the other ninja. Sarada was shocked watching how they keep the rouge ninja a good distance away from themselves and her but soon snapped out of it and helped the twins take down the rouge ninja. Asahi tied the knocked out ninja up. "We must tell father they attacked again. Yuhi, go to The school and check on Nejireru, Hibana and Hadama I'm going to the police station." Yuhi gave a nod they went their separate ways. Yuhi glanced at Sarada. "Are you hurt?" "No... Who were they?" She asked with a worried look. "Ninja from the sound and mist that have come together to destroy our clan." Yuhi replied. "Shinsuke and the younger ones haven't activated both of the eye dojutsu yet but we have and we are not as old as Sakiyuki which makes them think we are easier but we still have to check on them to make sure they didn't attack them." Sarada adjusted her glasses and picked up her speed.
