The Bending Ninja

Chapter 5

(Hani POV)

"EVERYONE TAKE COVER!!"

We dropped down as a sword flew over us. Forget when pigs fly, we have flying swords apparently. It lodged itself into a tree, and its owner came and stood on it. He looked very menacing.

"Well if it isn't Zabuza Momochi, rouge ninja from the Land of the Mist," Kakashi said. "Stay back and don't interfere. This guy is on a completely different level. If I'm going to fight him, I'm going to need this." He held onto his headband.

"Kakashi of the Sharingan eye, if I'm correct." Zabuza spoke, too bad but I nee you to hand the old man." 'Sharingan?' I wondered.

"Manji formation. Protect the bridge builder. and stay out of this fight! I taught you team work and now it's time to use it."

He pulled up his headband to show his...Sharingan eye!

Our enemy spoke out, "I get to see the Sharingan in action, what an honor."

Naruto got fed up, "Sharingan, Sharingan! What is this Sharingan?"

Sasuke was the one to respond. "Sharingan, a rare power that resides in the eyes. The user of this visual jutsu or dojutsu can see and easily comprehend any genjutsu, taijutsu, and ninjutsu, and reflect the attack back. The Sharingan is a special rare form of dojutsu. And there's more, a lot more."

"Exactly. There is indeed more." Zabuza continued the impromptu mini-lecture. "The Sharingan can analyze and then copy an opponents technique to the smallest detail. In the Land of Mist, you were in our bingo book as the man who copied a thousand jutsu, Kakashi the Copy Ninja."

'A rare dojutsu huh? Aren't dojutsu's genetic?' I looked over to Sasuke and ask him,"Hey, Sasuke, is the Sharingan genetic?" Looking back at me he replies, "Yeah, it's a kekkei genkai that belongs to the Uchiha clan, my clan." He looks back at the high level ninja and so do I. It leaves me wondering why a Hatake would have it.

"Enough talking, I need to exterminate the old man now, and if I have to eliminate you first so be it." Zabuza spoke to Kakashi.

We quickly moved to manji formation, me on Tazuna's and Sakura's right. We noticed Zabuza quickly moved to the lake. There was a surge of chakra that even I could feel it. "Hidden mist jutsu!" Thick mist and fog moved in and made it difficult to see anything. He disappeared from our sight.

"Sensei, who is he?" asked Sakura.

"Zabuza Momochi. Former leader of the Hidden Mist assassination unit. Master of the silent killing technique. The Sharingan can't fully neutralize it so don't lower your gaurd."

Within moments the mist gets so thick I can't see Kakashi Sensei. Suddenly theres a voice saying the 8 fatal points.

Kakashi released a mass amount of chakra to clear the mist around us, but the air felt so tense. It felt suffocating, the intent to kill in the air. I looked over to my team...Sasuke...I felt it, but he was being drowned by it. It made more panic and anxiety rise up in me.

"SASUKE! Calm down. I'll protect you with my life. All of you. I wont allow my comrades to die. Trust me."

"I wouldn't be so sure." Zabuza was between us in an instant. "It's over."

We were suddenly pushed out of the way by our sensei who stabbed Zabuza. He then turned into water and the real Zabuza had appeared behind him and attacked him, to reveal Kakashi was also a water clone. Kakashi appeared behind him one last time. "You're finished."

"Hehehe. Finished? You don't understand. I won't be outdone by a mere imitation. Nice try. But I'm not that easy to fool!" Zabuza appeared behind him and swung his sword. Kakashi ducked below it but Zabuza kicked him through the air and into the lake. Zabuza followed and trapped Kakashi in a sphere of water "Water prison jutsu."

He then made a water clone. "You think a headband makes you a ninja? When you hoovered between life and death so many time then you may be ninja. If you're deadly that you are entered in my bingo book, then you may have earned the title ninja. But you weaklings are jokes."

The mist thickened once again. In a few seconds, he attacked Naruto and caused his headband to fly off and he stepped on it. "You brats."

"Naruto!"

"Listen," Kakashi spoke out. "You have to run away. He's using his energy to keep me here. His clone can't go far from his real body so take Tazuna and run!"

No. We can't leave him. We need him....

Sasuke attacked him, running towards him using shuriken and trying to stab him, but he got thrown back. Naruto's expression was changing...it looked to become more determined.

What could i use? My water bending would be as good as useless since the mist and lake have his chakra. With the mist in the air, air and fire would be weaker, and wouldn't reach as far. Earth weapons, taijutsu. Maybe not taijutsu. I've never been so limited...

I decided to take action...

"Aaaaahhhhhhh!!!" Naruto was running towards Zabuza, only to get tossed back.

Sakera began to scold him. "What are you thinking! Even Sasuke couldn't get to him! We're only genin! We can't defeat a jounin! What'd you think you'd accomplish?" I then noticed he had his headband in his hand. He slowly stood up.

"Hey freak with no eyebrows, put this in your bingo book. The future Hokage of the Village Hidden in the Leaves, he never backs down. His name is Naruto Uzumaki."

How!? How can he stand and smile with such confidence!? I can't understand. But...It sure is admirable.

"Hey Sasuke, listen up can you hear me?" he asks. "Yeah I hear you." "I got a plan." "So you're finally thinking about teamwork huh?" "Alright. Let's do it!"

"What did I say!?" Kakashi yelled from his prison "Run away! Focus on the mission, protect Tazuna, not me! You can't defeat him."

Zabuza attacked Sasuke and Naruto attacked him with his clones...

I watched them, as they successfully executed their plan without even saying it aloud. Their teamwork was amazing...I watched as I did nothing, and they did everything. I wasn't able to show what I could do.

The fight continued Jounin vs Jounin, is escalated to both of them using a strong water jutsu that jogged me out of my daze. With large amounts of water rushing towards us, I moved the earth below us to avoid the water. Naruto his the side of it having come in with the water. I rushed over and helped him up. The water passed and it seemed the fight was over, until senbon needles hit Zabuza and apparently killed him.
