Chapter 1

May 21, 2014. 9:29!

Brittney was in her dressing room, getting ready for the concert. She wore a short, strapless red dress with a layer of black lace that draped over her left shoulder. She finished the look by slipping on her black high heels.

She sat at the vanity set. Kaci was applying her makeup—a dark look with bold red lipstick—while her hair stylist fixed her long, red and black hair, which she kept down.
Brittney only had three tattoos and two piercings. Behind her ear, she had a Hello Kitty tattoo with pink and black stars that trailed down to her neck. On her wrist, she had a pink and blue skull with a bow on its head and two crossed guns. For piercings, she had a triple forward helix, and her ears were filled with earrings.

Her best friend, Olivia, was stretched out on the couch, playing on her phone. Olivia sat up and looked at her.

"So, is Avenged Sevenfold performing with you tonight?" she asked.

"Yeah, they are!" Brittney replied. "M and I are performing our duet together."

Her older brother, Zacky, is the rhythm guitarist for Avenged Sevenfold, so he and the guys were touring with her.

"Sweet!" Olivia said. "Hey, your bass guitarist seems to be into you."
"You mean Sean?" Brittney asked, looking at her through the mirror.
"Yeah, him! Don't you see the way he looks at you when you're on stage?"

"Okay, Britt, you're done!" Kaci said, smiling at her.

"Thanks!" Brittney replied, standing up to check the mirror. "Olivia, I think Sean only likes me as a friend!"

"You don't know that," Olivia countered.

Brittney put her earplugs in, walked over to Olivia, and sat beside her. "I'm not his type."

"Brittney, you are his type!" Olivia insisted. "Just talk to him."

"Okay, I'll talk to him," Brittney smiled.

Zacky walked in. "Showtime, Britt. It's already 10:03!"

"Got it!" she replied, jumping up. "Let's go!"

They walked out of the dressing room and headed toward the stage. She could already hear the screaming fans calling her name.

"What song are you going to perform first?" Zacky asked her.
"Ms. Hyde," she replied, smiling at him.

"Awe, that song is awesome!" said Olivia.

"Thanks!" Brittney said, looking at her.

"Have fun," Zacky said, smiling at her.

She smiled and nodded. "Okay!"

On Stage

When they reached the stage, it was dark, lit only by a single red light. Brittney's band was already in position, ready to start the concert.
Then the lights began flashing in different colors. She walked up the stairs, holding the cordless microphone.

When she reached the top of the stage, she turned around; there were almost a million screaming fans in the stands. She looked at her band and nodded.

They started the intro to "Ms. Hyde," and she started singing the lyrics, walking back down the steps as she did.

As she ended the song, her guitarist started playing a solo, and she launched into the lyrics for "Love Bites (So Do I)." The rest of the band joined in. She was walking around the stage when she looked over and saw Sean watching her.

After the song, she looked out into the screaming crowd. "How is everyone doing tonight?"

Everyone screamed back as she shouted the question. "Who's ready to have a good time?"

The crowd roared again. "Alright! This next song is called 'Rock Show!'"

Her band started playing their instruments, and she sang the lyrics. This time, she walked down the catwalk, touching some fans' hands.
When she ended the song, she looked at the crowd and smiled.

"Okay, we have a very special band scheduled to perform tonight!" she smiled. "You guys know who they are!"

She looked over at her band, and they were already backstage. The crowd screamed as Zacky,

Synyster, Jonny, and Arin came out.
"Let's welcome Avenged Sevenfold to perform some awesome songs!" she shouted.

M. Shadows, or M, came out on stage, holding a mic. "Thanks for having us, guys! But wait, Brittney, I need you to do me one huge favor."

"And what is that, M?" Brittney asked, looking at him.

"I need you to perform this one song with me," he replied. "'Take the Bullets Away!'"

"Okay, let's do this!" she smiled at him.

They performed the song. It was a perfect duet, and M and Brittney were rocking it.

Meanwhile, Sean and the guys got off the stage so Avenged Sevenfold could perform. He watched Brittney, and he thought she was the most beautiful girl he'd ever met. The way she sang, her smile, and everything about her was making him fall in love.

He heard Avenged Sevenfold and Brittney performing their duet. He sat down next to Chase. "Dude, working for Brittney is fun."

"Tell me about it," he replied. "I know you like her."

"I'm not gonna lie, I do like her," Sean admitted.

"Dude, you don't stand a chance with her, trust me," Chase said. "She's into bad boys."

Sean looked over and saw Brittney's best friend, Olivia. He quickly got up and went over to her.

"Hey, Olivia, can I ask you something?" he asked her.
"Yeah, what?" she replied.

"What is Brittney's type?" he asked again.

"You mean in guys?" she asked.
"Yes! I'm just wondering."

"She's into bad boys," she replied, "but she has a crush on you."

"Really?" Sean asked. "She likes me?"

"Yes, she likes you! Don't tell her that I told you."

"I won't tell her, and I like her, too," he replied.

"Dude, if you two like each other, then ask her out!" Olivia said. "She will say yes."

"Okay, I'll ask her out after her concert," Sean said, smiling.

"Dude, here she comes now!" Olivia said, looking toward the staircase.

"Wow, she looks so beautiful," Sean murmured.

Brittney walked towards them and smiled. "Here's a bottle of cold water," he said, handing it to her.
"Thanks!" She smiled back and took a drink. "Only four more songs to go!"

"Sweet!" Olivia said. "So the guys are performing now?"

"Yes, they're on now," Brittney replied.

"Sweet!" Sean smiled. "By the way, Britt, you're kicking ass tonight."
"Thanks, Sean!" she replied. "Oh, we're ending the concert with 'The Other Side.'"

"Okay!" he said, smiling at her. "Sweet, I'm good at that song."
"Yeah!" she smiled. "Keep up the good work."

"I will!" he smiled back. "Let's show these fans an awesome song."
"Hell yeah!" She laughed. "Let's do it!"

After Avenged Sevenfold finished, they got back on stage and performed a few more songs. Sean thought seeing Brittney perform was amazing; she was like an angel sent from heaven!

After the concert, he was in Brittney's dressing room with her and the rest of the crew, drinking champagne. He really liked her, but he didn't know how to tell her.
