(Y/n's P.O.V)
I walked down the streets until I reached the record shop. I opened the door and was welcomed by the familiar jingle of the bell above me, announcing the arrival of a new customer. I waved at the cashier, who now knew me very well, then headed toward the section with Punk and Metal music. I sorted through the different bands, searching for something I didn't already have, then heard the bell ring again, and a girl about my age walked in, passing me and going towards the Rock music section. I don't know why I was so surprised, it had been a few hours since we left USJ, so it makes sense that school is out by now. I looked over at her, but I think she was too invested in her music choices to notice, but suddenly, comically, a new song started playing over the speakers, and I felt my face heat up when she looked up and noticed me.
"Of fucking course..." I muttered, and she laughed, which made my heart skip a beat. "Wait what? Do you even like girls? What is this feeling, anyway?" I thought, and subconsciously started laughing too. "Um- Hi? This is.. interesting." she said, and I nodded. "So... you come here often? This is the first time I've seen you here, and I'm here almost everyday." I said, trying to stop blushing, not understanding why I felt like this, and being quietly angry at the music. "Oh, yeah. I normally come here on weekends, so maybe we've just missed each other." She responded, then came over to me, making me raise my shoulders in alarm.
"So, what music are you into?" she asked, face also slightly pink. I got excited to show her, cause I don't really have anyone to tell about the bands I like. Before I could show her, she asked "Hey, does your Quirk change emotions or something? I just got super excited for no reason." "Ah! Sorry, I can't really help it. I've never been able to control my Quirk that well... yeah, I can project my emotions onto the people around me. I'm really sorry." I explained, feeling embarrassed, then forced down my Quirk. "No, it's ok. That's pretty cool. My Quirk is just these earphone jacks, I can listen to quiet stuff and make my heartbeat super loud." She responded, and I smiled. "That's super cool. And as for bands, I like a lot, but I really like these guys." I said, picking up an album. "My Chemical Romance? I haven't heard of them before, but maybe I'll give them a try. I like basically any rock music. But these guys are pretty good." She said, holding up an album with the band name Highly Suspect on it, which made me cringe, thinking about how I'm part of the League of Villains. "I felt that. Do you not like them or something?" She asked, expression darkening. "Oh! No no no, not that. I've never heard their music. That was about something else." I scrambled for a recovery. Interacting with someone you think you might have a crush on it hard when they can feel everything you can.
"Oh, ok." She responded, still looking suspicious. "So, you like rock music. That's pretty cool. Most girls our age are either into K-pop, J-pop, or well... Pop. I'm kind of a metalhead, punk, alternative mix. I think those three genres are kinda similar, so... yeah." I laughed nervously. "Oh cool. By the way, what's your name? I'm Jiro." she said, and I quickly responded "My name is (L/n), nice to meet you." "Yeah, totally. Well, I'm going to keep looking around. It was nice talking to you, maybe I'll see you here again sometime." She responded, and I nodded in agreement. She quickly walked away, and I walked away too, mentally face palming and cringing. "Well, fucked that one up real bad." I whispered to myself. At this point I kind of wanted to leave, but I noticed she had left the rock section, so I went back and quickly grabbed a Highly Suspect record then went to the cashier. "Here, I'd like to get this one." I said, handing it over. "So, you finally met Jiro. Yeah, she's in here a lot. I was hoping you two would meet one day. I think you'd make a cute couple." the cashier stated blunty. "Wait- so you played that song on purpose?! And, just because I know you and you're only 2 years older than me doesn't make that any less creepy. But if I'm honest, I do think she's... kinda cute. Here, here's some extra money to pay off what she buys, and whatever is left, just count it as bribery for you to shut up about this." I said, handing the cashier a wad of cash. "OooOOOo~" "Shut up or I'll come back here and take the extra money after she buys." I said, taking my bag and leaving. I stood in an ally beside the shop and peeked through the window to see Jiro's reaction. The cashier exaggeratedly held up the albums that Jiro got: the album I had shown her, Danger Days: The True Lives of The Fabulous Killjoys, and The Black Parade. She looked surprised and happy, so I smiled to myself, feeling warm and fuzzy until realized she was about to turn and see me, so I ducked out of view. I retreated into the allyway and peeked around the corner to watch her leave. As soon as she was out of view, I started walking back to my place.
Along the way I spotted someone with their wallet sticking out of their bag, and as I walked past them, I carefully and quickly took it, and they didn't even notice. I picked through it, taking all of the cash out of it and cards out of it, then ripping up their I.D. and tossing it down into a storm drain. I went to a sketchy corner of town and sold the cards for a quick buck, then went along back to my house. I'd become a skilled pickpocket recently, but even before becoming a villain I'd been pretty good add it. I mean, if you're a broke, shy, anxious middle schooler that can run fast and navigate crowds, it's the perfect way to get money. I slowly climbed the stairs to my room, and opened my record player. I took out the vinyl that was in it and replaced it with the new one and started playing it, and lied down on my floor, staring at my ceiling and listening to the music and gently nodding my head along with it. I contemplated if I really did like this girl, and then resolved to visiting the record shop again tomorrow, just in case she might be there.
