~1 week of planning later~
(Y/n's P.O.V)
I sighed and leaned on Big Sis Mag, bored and annoyed by the constant planning and obsessing over every event that was happening. I was told every part of the plan before the new recruits, so I didn't really need to listen. I was mostly here for my quirk, to keep Dabi, Toga, and Tomura away from each other's throats, and to keep Twice calm, the second not entirely necessary while he had his mask. Over the past week my job had been running messages back and forth and building relationships with the recruits. Mag and I have been pretty close since the train incident, and she really does act like a big sister. A rough and and violent one, but still. Twice and I are good friends as well, and I find him charming and cute like a small child. Spinner and I just calmly acknowledge each other's existence, not much to say to each other, and same goes for Dabi. Although Dabi and I have spoken a few times, and a few curt nods in greeting. Mr. Compress and I have a friendship based off respect for each other, and a fascination with the other's quirk. A few days ago I had dozed off during a meeting at he had quietly woken me up and kept me entertained with small close magic tricks, and I sat and watched, memorized and giggling in child-like excitement every once in a while. I don't like Mustard or Toga. Mustard seems like an arrogant son of a bitch that'll do whatever he feels like, and Toga unnerves me. She keeps smiling at me too wide while fiddling with a knife. Also the complete lack of intelligent conversation with either of them is annoying. My phone went off with a loud 'Ping!' and I sat up and checked it.
J: Hey (Y/n). Sorry I haven't been able to talk in so long! I was wondering if you'd like to join me to the mall with my classmates later today?
I stared at it for a bit, then looked back up at Kurogiri and Tomura. "Tomura, I have an update. And a question. Both, at once." I said, interrupting some squabble that had broken out between Dabi and Tomura. "WHAT? Ahem, sorry. What is it?" he responded, and I was taken aback by the apology. "Um. Well, Class 1-A is going to the shopping mall later today, like all of them I believe. Do you think it's a good idea for me to go?" I explained. "Hm. Yeah, you should go. And I'm coming with. I have something to attend to with one of those kids in particular." "Now, Shigaraki, don't do anything brash-" "Shut up, Kurogiri! I know what I'm doing!" I glared at Tomura until he reluctantly mumbled an apology to Kurogiri for the outburst. "Also, people are on the hunt for you more than they are me, they've seen you and know what you look like, especially these kids. How do you plan to blend in like that?" I asked, standing up and stepping away from Mag. He looked insulted at first then his shoulders drooped. I sighed and said "Ok then, I got you. Kurogiri, my place please? Both of us?" "Of course, (Y/n). Thank you for being here." I smiled back at him and waved goodbye to my new coworkers and friends. A portal appeared in front of us, and I linked my arm around Tomura's and dragged him through onto the landing of the stairs leading up to my room. I let go of him and hung my arms at my sides. I watched him look around, then realized he's never been to my place before. I shifted uncomfortably, then said "Welp... here we are. This is where I live. An abandoned building. Yep. I'm gonna text my friend back quick to let her know that I can come."
Y: Hey, Jiro. I can make it. My brother is coming with me too, but he won't be spending anytime around with us. He's just coming to wander and to take me to and from. Just letting you know. Just let me know when you get there and we'll come over.
J: Great! Can't wait to see you! <3
I smiled and felt warm and happy inside at the small heart. Tomura shuddered in disgust and swiped my phone from my hand with 4 fingers. I let out a yelp of protest as he started furiously swiping through the texts. I reached over and grabbed it back, and he looked back at me in disgust. "So that's where you've gotten the information from?! A secret hero girlfriend?" He shouted, getting agitated and scratching at his neck. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry! I really like her,and she makes me happy, and I didn't know she was a UA student until recently. I'm sorry..." I panicked, raising my shoulders. When he didn't respond, I hung my head and sighed, but a cold hand, besides one finger, rested on my shoulder. "Hey. Look at me." Tomura's voice insisted, so I did, scared by the uncharacteristic calmness in it. "It's fine. You've been a lot happier lately, and I suppose that's good. If she makes you happy that's ok. But more importantly, you have a job to do, and she'll be a good way to get information. Let's get ready." I smiled and he took his hand away. I led the way up the stairs and opened the door for him.
"Sit on the bed or on that chair, doesn't matter to me. Let me get out a box of jackets for you to choose from. You're pretty thin so most of these should fit you, if not be too big. There's a cleared out drawer in the desk that you can put your father's hand in to keep safe while we're out." I said, pulling a box of hoodies and coats out from under my bed and setting them on the floor in front of the chair where he'd chosen to sit. He rummaged for a bit, carefully trying not to touch anything with all his fingers. After a while I noticed him looking at a black trench coat, multiple times. Looking in the way that once does when debating whether not to buy something or not. "Feel free to try it on. You can keep it if you want, I can buy another of if I still want it. Although you might want to go with something more inconspicuous for now, like this." I said, handing him a baggy black hoodie. He looked mildly surprised, but said "Thanks." Then set the coat over the back of the chair, pulled on the hoodie, then removed his father's hand from his face and carefully, gently, set it in the drawer and closed it. It's not often that I get a good look at his face, and when I do I feel kinda bad. He always looks so worn out and defeated. I realized that his hair was a matted mess, and I sighed. "Ok, come on. Sit back down, let me fix this. Trust me, it'll feel a lot better." He looked confused, but sat down anyway.
I stood behind him and ran my fingers through his hair carefully, then took a metal comb from the desk and carefully tugged at the strands until they were separated and somewhat manageable. I realized that he had actually fallen asleep during this process and I giggled softly. I knew that getting your hair brushed could feel nice, but this was just adorable. I rummaged in my drawer and got out some detangling spray, spritzed it and quickly worked out the rest of the tangles until his hair was soft and lied in its choppy layers. I sighed and opened my mouth to tell him to wake up, but had an idea. I dug around more until I found an old pink and yellow flower crown, and I set it on his head and snapped a picture before putting it back and waking him up. He sat up and mumbled something that I didn't hear, then he ran his fingers through his hair and a brief hint of a smile flashed across his face. I sighed and chuckled softly, putting my hands on my hips. I looked at him for a few more seconds, then grabbed my black jean jacket and pulled it on, then found an unopened chapstick in my tiny box of all the lip balms I had gotten but never used completely. (Come on, this can't just be me. Like I have an weird amount of lip balms I've just collected over the years and I somehow never manage to finish one.) I tossed it into his lap and said "Here. Please at least try to use this, even if it's every once in a while, so it doesn't hurt to you know, make any expression without your lips cracking and bleeding. He rolled his eyes, and I turned to my mirror to adjust my clothes and fix my hair, and behind me I could see Tomura reluctantly using the lip balm and put it in his pocket.
