The sea was a rippling blanket of blue and emerald mixed, while shorebirds flew on the horizon where the sky meets water. It was almost sunset, but instead of warm amber tones, the sky was a cloudy haze of gray and indigo, with patches of faint mustard and tangerine.
Tin brought his small water-proof backpack and a big jug of drink when he went to meet Plan at the boatmen shore, all set and ready for their sunset ride.
He was greeted politely by the gentle-mannered village men.
Tin and Plan breezed through the wavy ocean quietly, as both seemed too conscious to start a conversation. After a quick 35-min ride, they finally reached what Plan called the secret lagoon.
All Tin could see was a huge chunk limestone formation in the middle of the vast ocean.
"I never imagined the lagoon to be this secret (emphasis on the secret) coz all I can see is this huge rock formation in the middle of the ocean and nothing more," Tin remarked.
Plan turned off the boat's engine and paddled to come closer to the giant rock.
"Be patient doc, there is more to this rock than meets the eye." He maneuvered the boat and swerved it to the left and a small cave entrance came to view. Plan hurriedly tied his boat to safety, before jumping down landing on the rocky sides of the huge limestone formation.
Plan held out his hand to help Tin alight the boat. "Follow me, then you'll see the most beautiful place in the world."
Tin gave Plan a questioning look, which he then answered with a playful smirk.
They both entered the small cave, just enough for one body at a time to crawl through. It was just a quick inching-in of their bodies on the slightly dark and rough stone-covered passageway until the most mesmerizing scenery finally came into view.
The secret lagoon sat hidden right in the middle of the huge limestone formation. It was like a surreal place only written on a magical children's book.
There is an entire small beach inside a rock within the ocean.
The whole area was surrounded by the tall edge of the limestone formation perfectly doming up the entire place, with a sizeable hole in the middle giving the view of the sky and letting in the natural light.
Different trees and fauna covered its walls giving it an eerie mystical feel. In the middle was the beautiful blue lagoon, its water seemed like Gatorade with its bright blue hue. The sand surrounding it was sugary white and fine, slightly glistening under the faint sunlight.
"Wow!" Is all Tin could muster to say.
"I told you," Plan smirked.
It's a shame this beauty is hidden away from the people. Tin thought.
They walked on the rocky edge of the lagoon, Plan carefully assisting Tin making sure he doesn't slip, until they reach the beach.
They settled down, Tin sitting down on the sand, stretching his legs out as his hands played on the fine white sand.
