What's bothering you?

It was 3 long weeks later when you were finally able to return to school. The dizziness was still a bit there, but it had improved greatly, and was nearly gone. The bandages had also come off, and you could see that your hair was drastically shorter where they had shaved it to get to the wound. Your long (h/c) hair was now mostly gone. You wondered what Jotaro would think. You hadn't seen him in weeks. He would bring your school work occasionally, leaving it in your mailbox instead of ringing the doorbell and handing it to you. You knew it was him because no one else could be doing it. A pile of assignments had formed at this point. Your mom wouldn't let you work on them, saying "It will strain your brain and hinder your recovery!" Apparently you can't even do as much as think with a concussion...

You got out of bed and slowly got ready. While heading towards the kitchen to make breakfast, the doorbell rang. Answering it, you found yourself looking straight into a broad chest. Looking up, you met his gaze. "J-Jotaro?! What are you doing here?" You said surprised, and a bit embarrassed. "My mom said you were gonna be coming back today, so I figured I'd walk with you to make sure you don't faint again." You stared at him and blank a couple times before saying: "You don't have to.... I'm not all that dizzy anymore... but thank you...." You invited him in while you ate, and offered him a drink. "I see the wound on the back of your head's healing nicely." He said, taking a sip of the coffee you'd prepared for him. "Yeah, I guess. It still hurts a bit..... but I'll be fine, so don't worry!"

You tried so hard not to upset him again, but he looked a bit sad anyway. "It's a shame they shaved your hair off, it's shorter than mine now..." "Oh, uh, it's ok, it'll grow back! But you know, I kinda like it like this, nice and breezy!" You laughed nervously. "You're so damn cheerful right now... " "Well excuse me for being happy Mr. Grumpy!" You couldn't hold back your laughter. "Yare yare daze." He gave a small smirk "Well, I'm glad you're alright (y/n)." It had been weeks since you last saw him and his rare smile. It made you stop laughing and turn red. "Oh, yeah..." you remembered "I want to thank you for dropping off my assignments, though I haven't been able to do any of them yet..." "How'd you know it was me?" "Because you're my only friend dummy." You giggled as he pulled his hat over his eyes. "I see." he whispered.

After finishing breakfast, the 2 of you headed off to school. Conversing on the way there, you brought up stand training. "So, when are we going to start training again?" Jotaro was silent and looking ahead. "It's been a while, and we haven't since..... I mean, I could still use more help. We can take it easy this time." "I don't know if I'm comfortable with that." He glanced down at you. "Well.... we don't have to get physical with each other, just, you know, teach me the energy and concentration side of things! We only ever did speed and endurance training in those few weeks. I'd like to learn how to focus better." "If that'll make you happy, then sure, I guess." The rest of the walk was quiet. Coming to the staircase, Jotaro held out his hand to you. "What are you doing?" You asked.

"I don't want you getting dizzy and falling down the stairs. Grab it." "I told you I'm fine!" "Just do it." You sighed and grabbed his hand as you ascended the stairs. You were embarrassed to be holding hands with Jotaro like this, even if it wasn't a romantic thing. Felling needle like gazes piercing you from his band of fangirls, it made you even more uncomfortable. At the same time, however, you felt happy about it all. You got to hold his hand, and show up those nasty girls, win-win for you! As soon as you got to the top, he let go. "I assume you won't need help on the inside stairs, they have rails." "Like I said, I'll be okay." You let out a small laugh and Jotaro sighed quietly. You kept saying you didn't need help from him, but deep down, you were enjoying it. It was sweet that he wanted to make sure you were ok.... did he actually feel the same way? You started to wonder about it.
