As they went by helicopter to their destination, Merko analyzed every step of the operation. He knew there could be no flaws. And even if something went wrong, his friends' team could intervene. The priority was his wife and granddaughter.

The aircraft, after a while, landed in Florida. Already at the heliport, an amphibious vehicle awaited them, like the one Dargan had used to leave the base. As soon as it got the "visitors", it took Nicholas, Merko and Zara to the Bermuda Triangle and there, in one of the most famous and mysterious spots in the world, the transport changed to the aquatic version, submerging. As they approached the station, they gazed in amazement at the facilities, which were far too advanced for the planet's developmental stage.

"Once again, Mirov's influencing the development of the humanity. What can happen to the future after these interventions? Because if it weren't for this bastard, there wouldn't be such technology harmful to the present times."

While Merko thought about this crime against the humanity, the others looked at each other, worried about what was to come. As they docked inside the base, some men were waiting to take them to Director Steighem's office. They entered there, escorted by soldiers and agents, the tension almost palpable in the air.

He was surrounded by several agents, men, and women. Beside him, a woman, all dressed in black, stared at them in a hostile way.

"Agent Soliver, please, wait outside with the other agents and soldiers. I only want the presence of agents Netil and Stuart," ordered the director.

She thought about saying something, but changed her mind. Anyone could tell how disgusted she was with that decision of her boss.

"Sir, don't you think it's dangerous to stay with these prisoners without the presence of more soldiers? You always said that this Merko's a powerful extraterrestrial..."

"Don't worry, Agent Soliver. He'll do nothing while his wife and granddaughter are under the aim of our weapons. Any false step and they'll die with a simple push of a button. By the way, it's this one that's in my hand at the moment. You may leave."

As they left, one steel wall rose and another glass one appeared, showing the prisoners, immobilized by the control leashes. Mirov needed to guard against Merko's powers and the two were his greatest defense.

"Helen!" Zara was desperate, wondering what could happen to the girl.

"I thought I'd never see you again, Mirov!" Merko commented, observing everything around him.

"I also don't like to see you captain, but now it's for a good cause... My revenge!"

A holography appeared in front of the director. It was the image of Dargan, who arrived at the base.

"Let him come in to join the meeting."

After a few minutes, while everyone looked at each other, Dargan entered the director's office.

"Now, yes, we're all gathered for the grand finale. But before that, I have some things to tell you, Merko." Steighem calmly placed the device he had in his hands on the table, and then showed his true features.

"When you die and disappear from this planet, no one will remember you, Merko", he spoke as he approached. "I'll kill your son and your daughter-in-law with my own hands, in front of you. As for your wife, she has cancer and will die in a short time. Maybe I'll let her live so she can feel the pain and remember me, for I insist to show her that I have exterminated her whole family and you couldn't do anything. As for the girl, she'll be my experiment guinea pig to enhance the human race, which I'll rule as I please", the monster gave a macabre laugh that echoed through the place.
