Secret

Sinukat ko yung tingin nya kung babawi sya. Hinintay ko na magbawi sya ng tingin. Sa mga oras na 'to parang yung tingin lang nya yung mahalaga. Gusto kong humaba pa yung oras namin na'to pero may parte ng isip ko na nagpaalala tungkol sa mga plano ko.
Ako ang unang bumawi. Napapikit ako at napabuntong hininga. Pag dilat ng mata ko nakatingin pa rin sya, pero naka kunot na ang noo nya.

"Bakit?" pinilit kong ngumiti at pagaanin yung nagsisimulang pagbigat ng damdamin ko.

"Ikaw ang dapat kong tanungin ng bakit. What is it for?"he said with his eyes full of concern.

I draw out another deep breath before I lied, "It was a sigh of relief..." it was almost a whisper dahil feeling ko pipiyok ako.

"I won't insist but we both know that's not the real reason."

I pressed my lips to force a smile and stretch myself to squeeze the tense.
"Yun talaga yun!" I gently wipe his face off and laugh a little to lighten the mood. And I think it worked. Ngumiti na sya ulit.

"Fine. Let's see the other side..." he pulled my hand and took my things.
We continued walking still having my hand enveloped to his. Hinayaan ko na. I want to savor this moment because my other self is starting to lecture me of my plans.

I noticed that we started slowing down.

"Yara..." his serious voice brought me back from my contemplation.

"Hmmm?" I look at him but he was just staring on the floor, then he stopped.

He look at me and I know that look. I understood because that is what I also feel at the moment. I cleared my throat before I speak, " Let's just enjoy this moment. Let's feel what we want to feel for now. This is new to me. Can we do that?"

He smiled - forced but real smile.

"Of course... this trip is about you anyway..."

We continued walking while he still lace his hands to mine. I love this warm feeling although it scares me.

"So...how did you plan this trip?" I asked trying to ease the moment.

"Well... I asked Kuya how are you holding up in your job and he said that he understands that everything was new to you. You worked hard. Then I thought I was being unfair. It was supposed to be me but there you are, taking my place to help my family for the expansion. I want to do something for you. So I planned this..."

"How..?" his honesty warms my heart.

"First, I asked your bestfriend of your favorite things. She suggested Singapore. She said that the last time you were here was during your third year in Junior High. It has been a while..." he nod and he continued.
" I called Kuya Yvan and ate Ysabell. They both suggested US. Akala ko nga nung una, States but they cleared that it's Universal Studios in SG. I started making some calls. Book travel tickets and Kuya helped in accommodations. I call some friends- connections para makakuha ng mabilisang deal dito sa Gardens at US. You know our school mates - crazy rich...so... yun..."
He was so happy narrating. And because of that I didn't stop myself from embracing him and it obviously taken him by surprise before he return the hug.
"Thank you...this means so much to me."
He caress my back, "Anything for you, my lady." He rewarded my head with the kiss and that made me tighten the hug before I pull myself, but he didn't let me go. He rested his chin over my head before we end the hug.
He held both of my hands and smile.
"You're right . Let's not worry too much. You dove, now it's time for you to enjoy and swim."
