I awoke to the sound of crying. I got out of bed and walked out of my room. I realized now that the horrid smell was gone. I followed the sobs until it led me to the front of the door. I was hesitant to open the door and leave, but my gut was telling me to follow the crying. I opened the door and walked outside. The sun wasn't out yet, and it wasn't cold. I followed the cries until it led me to the neighbor's house. I wanted to knock, but my gut was telling me to just walk in. So I did. I opened the door and was faced with darkness. I squinted my eyes and saw my neighbor, the little girl on her knees sobbing hard. I walked up to her and put my hand on her shoulder. She immediately turned around. I jumped back in horror as her face scared me. Her eyes were completely black and she was crying blood.
"GET OUT!!" Her voice didn't fit her. It sounds more like a demon then a child. I turned around to run but the door and outside world was gone. I was terrified. My eyes were starting to hurt from them being so wide. Same with my jaw. Then I felt a wet, sticky hand grab my arm. I turned my head scared, but then I was back on my bed. I saw light again, and the wet, sticky hand was replaced with my mother's.
"Time for school!" My mother exclaimed.
I jumped up and stared at my smiling mother. I grabbed my head, which moved towards my lips to cover my half opened mouth. I looked up to my now concerned ma.
"Uh, did you sleep well?" My ma asked. I only nodded. "Just a bad dream..." I mumbled loud enough for her to hear. She nodded and gave me my school uniform. Once my ma left, I got dressed and ready for my first day. I wanted to have a good first impression.
Once I was dressed and ready, I walked out of my room to find my mother drinking coffee. I said hello to her and my ma smiled. Then she left me know that she was driving me to school since it was the first day and stuff. I nodded and sat down to have some coffee myself. I took one sip and immediately spit out. It was awful. Just pure drool or something, but that was not coffee. I looked at what I was drinking and it was green and bubbly. When one of the gross bubbles popped, an actual spider crawled out! What in the name of anything holy was a spider doing in my ma's coffee? I felt sick to my stomach. I shook my head and closed my eyes, but when I looked back at the gross cup of green snob, it was coffee. Made just the way I liked it.
"Emily? Are you feeling well, hun? My mother's voice snapped me back into reality as I realized she just saw me spit out her delicious coffee.
I grabbed my head and sighed. "I'm okay, ma." I told her. I grabbed my backpack and told my mother I was ready to go. She got up and walked with me to the car. The moving truck was still parked outside. I climbed into the front seat and stared out my window. I watched as the houses flew by when I saw something shiny. I was blinded by it, which is how I noticed it. I focused my vision on it. It was cloudy out so how could it have been shining? I was confused but dismissed it off and continued looking out the window. Soon, a large building appeared, it was the school.
"Have a good day, Emily! I'll pick you up after school!" I heard my mother call out. I nodded and waved goodbye as my ma drove away. I looked at my new school, then down at my schedule. 'Okay, if that huge building over there is the cafeteria, then Building 1 should be to the left.' I thought to myself. I really didn't want to get lost or be late to any of my classes. I was staring at my schedule when a kid bumped into me. I know they did bumped into me because I was out of anyone's way and I was just standing there. I turned to see who bumped into me and it was a girl. She had dirty blonde hair and bright blue eyes. Well, eye. One of her eyes were covered with a bandage. Her mouth was opened, as if she had quietly gasped. Her eyes were dull and she looked expressionless.
