Chapter 12

And the long awaited chapter is finally here my dudes

"Evan, I-I... I'm into girls" Evan looked like he shut down. He was in pure confusion.

"No, you aren't you can't be you dated my brother ." He finally spoke and moved a bit back with a confused expression.

"What do you want me to say Evan, I'm sorry ok I was still figuring it out, hell I still am" My eyes got teary and I couldn't stop shifting my weight from a leg to the other.

"Woah WOAH calm down! Why are you crying Rachel?" Disbelief was quickly replaced by worry. He grabbed my shoulders and looked carefully at me. "I'm not going to judge you for that. Nor leave or hate you or whatever you thought I would. That's what besties are for right I live you stupid wolf?"

I smiled at him feeling relieved. The rest of the day, we hung out at his place and watched some movies. His mom told me Violet went back home after some time because  she had stuff to do and wasn't going to wait around for nothing . It was just me, Evan and the comfortable silence.

"May I ask something?" I nodded at his sudden question "How come you and Lucas are mates if well you're into girls?"

"I don't know I've never really been into guys but that's all I was thought growing up so I just accepted it, but honestly I don't think we are really mate. And I also don't know how I'm going to tell him this, I mean i guess I don't have to because we aren't together anymore but I just feel guilty with not telling him." I put on a stupid grin and Evan couldn't help but to giggle.

After some time, I got on my way back home. Neither of us noticed it already got dark due to the movie. It was nice to be honest.

The shortest way from Evan's to my place was through a lowkey-creepy-at-night-but-nice-at-day forest. I wasn't in the mood to get home at 4 in the morning so off through the forest I go.

"Oh, stop it mom I'm not a kid anymore!" To my surprise I heard no other than little precious Zoe talking. Curiosity got the best of me and I hid behind a bush to listen to the rest of the conversation.

Both of her parents died a long time ago though so there's no way she could be talking to her mother at the moment. My thoughts were interrupted by her sudden loud voice.

"No, no everything's alright here...She's fine, we're getting along just great actually. I can't wait for her to find out everything...Don't forget Britney. Okay then, greet Amber for me will ya, love you, bye" She hung up and started muttering under her breath things I couldn't understand.

Crap she's heading this way. Crap crap crap gotta yeet away.

I crawled on the grass and moved a bit further away. Thanks to my amazing ninja skills no sound was heard and hopefully she didn't notice me.
I got on my feet and started walking as if I just went for a walk and didn't listen to anyone's private phone call with their -supposed-to-be-dead mother.

"Oh, hey Zoe! What are you doing this late here? You know you shouldn't be here without an adult, it's dangerous!" She looked rather afraid than surprised to see me there, talking to her and shit.

"I-I'm just taking a w-walk! And I asked the adults at the pack and they s-said I could go!" I raised one of my eyebrows and looked down at her smirking.

"Zoe you're a horrible liar."
