"Congrats Y/N! Vu are vith child!" Schneeplestein declared, placing down a glass beaker. "Vu und zee -prince vill definidely bear ein vonterful heir."

A large grin was plastered on my face. "Thank you, doctor. Dark will be so happy!"

"Vu are koing to be a marffelous mother, Y/N." The doctor smiled. "I can tell."

It may have been the hormones, but his words made my eyes water. Without thinking, I wrapped my arms around him in a tight hug.

"I've never really had a mother," I said as he hugged me back. "I was raised by my nanny and governesses."

"Zat makes no difference. Meredith told me how vu treated efferyone in your kingtom like family und how vu vere a great role model for zee children."

"I tried to be." I smiled sadly.

With a sympathetic pat on my shoulder, he let go of me before picking up a notepad and pencil. "My advice for today und for zee next nine months is to take it eazy, princess. I vill haffe zee plan for your new diet zent to zee kitchen schtaff."

He walked me to the door. "Vith zee prince being a demon, let's hope vu don't experience any abnormal cravings."

Anti escorted me to Dark's bedchamber, a new spring in his step when I told him the news.

"The whole kingdom is gonna be fecking ecstatic!" He grinned as we stopped at the door. "I hope I get to see the look on Wilford's face when he realizes he's fuc-oh! Pardon my language princess."

That made me chuckle. "You are pardoned, Antisepticeye. Goodnight."

He made a low bow. "G'night, your highness."

I found Dark slowly pacing the room when I entered. "Something the matter, Dark?"

He looked up at me as though in surprise. "I didn't even hear you come in, Y/N. And no, I've just been thinking."

I rose an eyebrow. "What about?"

"I thought about temporarily handing some of my duties over to Anti as he is the only one I trust to run my kingdom."

I blinked at him. "Whatever for?"

"So it would allow me to stay with you; enabling me to be ready to protect you if Wilford should attack. I know the bastard will be planning something..."

"He certainly is taking his time." I agreed grimly.

"I just wish he would show his face already so I can..." He let out a sigh. "I don't know..."

I took in a deep breath before stepping towards him with a bright smile. "Well in lighter news, I've been waiting all day to tell you something."

He blinked at me, his eyes looking hopeful. "What is it?"

"Schneeplestein had me do some tests," I explained. "And he has confirmed that I am pregnant."

Dark's mouth dropped open as his lips slowly turned into a large grin. "You are?!"

I nodded happily.

Dropping to his knees, he placed a hand on my lower stomach, staring at it.

"This child has no idea how important it is to this kingdom's future." He said, looking up to meet my eye. "I had no idea myself until Wilford tried to kill me."

I blinked at him. "When did he try to kill you?"

"A few months before I met the other princesses." He shook his head. "It's very easy to kill a demon. You only need a vile of holy water and a sharp blade."
