A few days had past and things were going well, but Alice couldn't shake the feeling that something bad was about to happen.

She put Charles down for a nap in his room and walked over to the couch where FP was sitting and slipped into his lap.

"FP?"

"Yeah baby?"

"I'm scared, I feel like your dad is going to come back." She said trying not to cry.

"He knows if he does, he's going to jail babe."

"I know I just-"

Just then there was a knock at the door.

"I'll get that."

FP got up and went to answer the door.

"Hello?"

"Hi there are you FP Jones?"

"Uh why?"

"I'm Susan from CPS, you have a child am I correct? Someone made a call and told me they heard some yelling and abuse going on here, just wanting to do a check."

"Excuse me? Who called you?"

Alice was listening to everything from the living room and she started to cry. She couldn't believe what was going on.

"I'm not allowed to disclose that information Mr. Jones, May I come in?"

"Sure, whatever, nothing to hide here. My son is sleeping in his bedroom, has everything he needs. I have a job I'm starting in 30 days, was in the army right out of high school. He has two happy parents and he is a happy baby."

"I understand it's just the policy, I have to do this if I got a call."

FP just let the woman do what she had to, and he walked to the living room to sit next to Alice.

"It's okay baby, nothing is wrong here, I bet it was my old man that called them. But don't worry he will get what's coming to him."

"I knew something would happen, look not even a month and Gladys and your dad are trying to pull us apart FP."

"Hey hey look at me, it's you, Charles and I, nobody will ever pull us apart understand?"

She just nodded.

The woman was done looking around so she came to the living room to talk to FP and Alice.

"I apologize, everything looks great here, I don't understand why the person called, I peeked in your sons room it looks like he has everything, he looks healthy, and you have a lovely home. I'm so sorry again."

"No worries ma'am, let me walk you out."

Fp walked her out and went back to give Alice a hug.

"See baby, everything is alright, come on let's go lay down until Charles wakes up."
