Shawn smiled at the little girl and waved.
She looked at him curiously but said nothing."Isa, sweetie! What did Mommy say about..."
Shawn and Camila locked eyes. No words were exchanged between them until Isa reached her arms up to Camila.
Camila bent down and picked her up and held her on her hip. "Come on in."
Shawn opened the screen door and stepped in.
Camila turned to her daughter and smiled. "Sweetie, this is Mommy's friend, Shawn."
Shawn stepped closer and waved.
Isa buried her face in Camila's neck and held onto her tightly. "Her name is Issabel and she is bit shy."
"She's beautiful like her Mommy."
"What the heck is taking so....hello."
"Paula, this is Shawn."
Paula shook his hand but rubbed his bicep with her other hand. "Hello, Shawn. Come in. Don't be shy."
Camila shook her head.
"We are watching the Little Mermaid. It's Isa's favorite."
Isa turned her head and smiled at Paula.
"Doesn't he look like Prince Eric?" Paula asked her.
Isa nodded.
Shawn looked pretty proud of himself in this moment.
"What do you think Camila?"
Camila squinted her eyes at Paula.
Paula knew she had crossed some sort of line, which was indeed something she usually did. "Let's go sweet pea." She said then took Isa from Camila's arms.
Once they were out of the room, Shawn spoke first. "Can we talk?"
"What are you doing here, Shawn?"
"I want to talk."
"Now you want to talk? It's been six years since we've talked."
"Whose fault is that?"
"I can't do this right now." She said trying to fight tears.
Shawn immediately backed off. "I didn't come here to upset you."
"Then why did you, Shawn?!" She cried then buried her face in her hands.
He slowly approached her and opened his arms to her. She fell right into his arms and allowed him to hold her close.
