"Yes, I'll hold." Shawn said as he sat at Hector's desk. He had been back and forth with Bradford's assistant trying to get him on the phone.
Camila's head popped in through the door frame.
Shawn put up his index finger and mouthed the words one minute.
She entered the office and paced a bit.
"Please tell him I called. It is very important. Thank you." He said then finally hung up the phone.
"Is everything okay?" She asked, genuinely concerned.
"Just trying to get that producer guy to come back to see you."
Her eyes widened in fear. "I can't go up there again. Shawn, please stop."
"Of course you can. You are so talented."
She walked over and leaned on the edge of the desk. "Maybe it's not meant to be."
"Nonsense. Your voice is meant to be heard."
She smiled. "Maybe if you're there, I can do it."
He smiled. "Of course I will."
She held out her hands to him. "Dance with me."
He smiled. "There isn't any music."
"I can fix that." She said then turned on the small radio her father kept on his desk. She smiled as 'La Florerita' began to play. Her father always had his radio set to this Latin music station.
As she held his hands she began swaying her hips, encouraging him to do the same. She then twirled herself towards him and pressed her back against his chest.
He closed his eyes and took in the scent of her hair and tried to memorize the feeling of her body pressed against his.
"Spin me."
He grabbed her hand and twirled her away from him then back against his chest, only this time she was facing him.
"I want to talk about what happened last time we were in this office."
"Why?"
"Because I feel like you weren't being honest with me."
"Please believe me when I tell you 100% I want you to be happy."
"What makes YOU happy Shawn?"
As he opened his mouth to answer, she cut him off.
"And you better not say my happiness."
He tilted his head to the side slightly. "That is the truth though."
She moved her face even closer to his face. "There can be more than one truth."
"I am starting to realize that."
The sound of his phone ringing caused them both to jump slightly.
Shawn turned and reached for the phone.
Camila watched him intently.
"Hello. Yes. Thank you so much! See you tonight." He said happily then ended the call. "The exec is coming back to see you. Well, us actually."
Camila's eyes widened. "Oh my god, he is?"
Shawn nodded. "Maybe I will end up in LA after all."
Camila jumped on him and hugged him. "How did you do it?"
"A lot of pestering."
She giggled in his ear sending chills all over his body.
The sound of a throat being cleared filled the air.
Camila turned her head and saw a very angered Austin standing at the door.
"Something I should know about?"
"We just got some good news." Shawn said, trying to ease the obvious tension.
"Must be the kind of news that causes my girlfriend to jump into the arms of another man."
"We were hugging, man. That's all."
Austin walked closer to them and held out his hand for her. "What is the good news?"
Camila smiled nervously. "That producer guy is coming back to see me...we'll us...perform."
Austin smiled and pulled her close. "That is wonderful news my love." He said then made sure to stare directly at Shawn as he kissed her head.
He then smirked at Shawn and held her face and kissed her.
Shawn turned away and rubbed his chest trying to ease the burning sensation around his heart. When he glanced back, he saw Camila backing off of the kiss. He knew she wasn't a huge fan of pda. He couldn't help but wonder if it was for his benefit that she backed off.
"Rosa is looking for you, babe."
"Okay. I'll be right back." She said then headed for the door. She turned back before she left and smiled at Shawn. "Thank you for making this happen, Shawn."
He simply smiled, not wanting to piss Austin off anymore than he already had.
"Hurry back, baby." Austin said then closed and locked the door. He slowly turned to Shawn. "I think we need to have a little chat, Mendes."
