Chapter 27: Return the Page

Mark's POV

It has been a week since I moved out. I stayed with Jackson in his villa for the meantime.

Throughout this one week, the boys and I had been digging up Jessica and her family's past.

I sat in front of my computer reading reports and signing contracts and attending employees.

Knock knock

"Come in."

"Sir."
Sungjin bowed.

"Make it quick, I am busy."
I replied.

"Sorry for interrupting but a guest requested to meet you."
He explained.

"I m busy, put him under the appointment list."

"But sir it is Mr. Ki-."

"I am also a busy man too."
A voice spoke.

He walked in holding a file.

"Sungjin, two coffee please."
I requested.

He nodded and bowed before leaving.

"What brings you here today?"
I asked.

He pulled out another small envelope out from his blazer and handed it to me.

I opened the enveloped and pulled out a Golden card. After reading the title on the cover, I immediately put it down.

"Next Saturday, Shina and I hope you can make it."

"So it's really happening."
I said.

"Congratulation Jin...you won."
I said and offered my hand to him.

"Not yet."
He said.

I put my hand down and look at him curiously.

"I heard that you are investigating Jessica's past so I brought something that you might be interested in."
He said and hand me the file he was holding.

I unsealed the envelope and pulls out papers from the inside.

"What is this?"
I asked.

"Throughout this week, I asked a few people to help out with your investigation and these are the information I gathered."
He said.

"Just three months before Jessica appeared, her father applied for bankruptcy."

"But in just a month, her shares increased furiously."

"Tell me, how does a girl like her gain so much share in just a month?"
He asked.

"What are you suggesting?"
I asked.

"Mr. Tuan, I am pretty sure you are clever to know what I am thinking."

"Why are you helping me?"
I asked.

"Because of Shina."
He replied.

"She told me everything, and she asked me to assist you in this investigation."

"She cares about you a lot."

"I am very glad to hear that."
I smiled.

"But she don't remember me anymore."

"No Mark she do."

"No she don't Jin."

"She may not remember you, but her heart do."

"She has been talking in her sleep at night, questioning who are you."

"Ever since you two reunited, Shina has been having headaches, her heart is trying to help her remember you."

Shina...all this while I thought that I was the only one fighting this battle, but your heart has been with me all the time.

"And also listen to this."
Jin pulled out his phone and switch on a audio conversation between a man and...Jessica?

Audio conversation

My lady, after what happened,
you chose to dumb me?

Remember I know very well
what's in your mind.

must leave Korea after receiving

"This phone call was between Jessica and the man who is responsible for Shina's accident."

I dropped the phone and looked at Jin.

"It was around15 minutes before the accident."

"Are you saying..."

"Jessica tried to kill Shina."
Jin replied.

"Mark, I don't want to hide anything from Shina anymore."

"Tell her the truth."

"Aren't you afraid that once she knows the truth you'll lose her?"

"No, all I want is for her to be happy."

"If at the end, she chooses you..."

"I'll return her back to you."
