**Aqua's POV**Kou ran to Tomoe and me, and they ran to the infirmary. I was struggling to keep chanting, and I said, "Hair." Tomoe was confused until he saw my wet clothes. He looked at Kou, and Kou performed the spell continually for me.
Tomoe gingerly laid me down on the bed before apologizing because he had to pull the arrow out. He pulled it out using his magic for precautionary measures. I screamed out in pain and tears came out of my eyes.
"Kou, it's laced in black magic." I could hear his voice crack because he thought that the dark magic was in my body. Dark magic in a mermaid's body was a certain death sentence because it would seep into the bloodstream where merfolk holds their immortality.
Tomoe dropped the arrow in a tray after Kou saw it and they worked together to fully heal my body. It wasn't nearly as painful as pulling out the arrow had been, but it wasn't exactly painless. They were forcing my body to stitch itself together at an extremely fast rate, even for mermaids.
Kou brushed my hair out of my face, and I felt on my arm which undid my hair spell. "You were one of the best students that we ever had the privilege to teach."
Tomoe stood up next to Kou with streams of tears running down his cheeks. "Don't tell Mia, but I think we like you more. You're our other adopted daughter." His voice cracked, and I started crying when he told me that. Tomoe and Kou regarded Mia as their daughter because they practically raised her, but for them to say that to me meant so much.
I looked at them with loving eyes and pulled my shorts up a little bit to show my deactivation spell. "Vladimir knows who I am, but I wasn't going to affirm it, so when I sensed dark magic in the air, I found the equation to deactivate it and put it on my body all while silent casting to keep my hair blonde."
They wiped their tears away and looked at me with pure pride. "I can't believe you did all of that on your own." Tomoe said.
"I can't believe that you even thought of that! I mean think about it, Tomoe. Since the deactivation spell was on her body, the black magic on the arrow was only deactivated while in her body. It reactivated when it left her body, so if another person saw it, they wouldn't think that she used her magic. ON TOP OF THAT SHE SILENT CASTED!" He shouted which made my headache return. It was intensifying more and more by the second until I could feel my vision blurring over.
"Do I get the award for best pupil?" I slurred.
"That and a million more things, Sweetheart." Tomoe said.
"Hey, I don't feel so good, my head-," before I could even finish my sentence I passed out due to the pain.
**Dahlia's POV**
I was walking back to my dorm worried about was going to go down between Aqua and Uncle when I got the most wretched feeling in my stomach. Something was telling me that something was wrong with Aqua, but I kept telling myself that I was just being over protective.
I paced up and down our bathroom until I finally gave into the feeling and made my way to my Uncle's classroom. I was horrified when I smelled Aqua's blood on the floor and looked at Vladimir who had a look of despair in his eyes.
"Uncle where is Aqua?" I asked only slightly panicked.
He stood still and didn't even move.
"Where is Aqua?" I asked a little louder with slightly more panic.
He still stood still.
"DAMNIT VLADIMIR! WHERE THE FUCK IS AQUA?" I yelled at him, and he flinched.
"She took a dark magic arrow for me. I couldn't even hear it coming. How could I have not heard it coming? I'm a vampire. I should be able to hear that. How was she able to hear that?" He said and my thoughts immediately went to Tomoe and Kou and back to Uncle.
I walked over to his desk where he was sitting and grabbed his bottle of blood. I swirled it under my nose and I handed him the bottle and said, "Here's your answer. Someone put grounded obstructionum root in your blood to block your vampiric powers." He seemed confused.
"Someone was planning to kill me. Why?" His question was answered almost immediately when a note floated through the air towards us.
I read it out loud, "We want the princess, tick tock. Your deadline is the Royal Ball."
A shiver involuntarily ran down my spine thinking about what they would do to Aqua. Uncle Vladimir, suddenly reaffirmed, put his hand on my shoulder and said, "I will not let them lay a hand on you, Flower. No one touches my family."
I nodded my head to keep with the façade that they were talking about me and not Aqua. "I trust you, Uncle, but I have to go see how Aqua is."
"Please go. You are excused from classes for the day."
I ran out of the room using my vampiric speed and followed the scent of Aqua's blood which led me to the infirmary with Aqua passed, out and Tomoe and Kou staring at her while talking.
"But headaches aren't a part of the Mermaid Sickness. What is wrong with her?" Kou said, and I pushed them away to look at Aqua. My eyes were then drawn to the black magic arrow, and I looked at the two of them for answers.
"Short story even shorter, she is fine and does not have black magic in her blood, but something else is wrong with her. She shouldn't be passing out because of a headache. That doesn't happen to mermaids without reason." Tomoe said, and I thought back to when she passed out after taking my blood at her birthday because she couldn't stop the electricity around her.
"She passed out on her birthday, too. Granted, I had to give her my blood to stop the electricity around her body."
Tomoe and Kou's eyes darted to each other and back to me. "Electricity, you say?"
"Yeah, it looked like lightening was surrounding her body and she also conjured two Ancestral Dragons on her own."
"Interesting, indeed interesting." Tomoe said.
"Say, brother, the day she left to go home after we set rules for her, didn't a storm almost start immediately following her anger outburst?" Kou said.
"It has begun." Tomoe said, and I was confused until he continued, "She is gaining the power of all of the oceans, seas, and sky."
