Here's the next chapter. Enjoy! :)
*Dahlia's POV*
I pulled Tyrus, Silas, and Santino to a conference room in the estate while Kalen distracted Aqua. We had major things to discuss as a group that concerned Aqua's safety and in turn, mine.
"Needless to say that there are things that we need to talk about, and this meeting is missing Aqua because Tyrus had asked for her absence. What we speak of in this room does not leave this room. Now Tyrus, you said that you needed to explain something. Please do speak freely." I sat back down and Tyrus stood up, his right hand never leaving Silas.
"As you guys know, I am a close confidant to the Fairy Queen, but I haven't been exactly truthful. I am the first known male to possess fairy abilities and that is because I am partially corrupted." A gasp left my lips as Tyrus's hair bled to a deep, coal black and his suit was ripped away to reveal his muscular bare chest and black diamond like wings with chunks showing through as a bright silver. He truly was partially corrupted.
"When my mother first found out that she was pregnant, tragedy struck our family, and my father lost his job. It was hard times for the lower class in the Fairy Kingdom, and there were no open jobs. My mother needed food to provide for me and needed doctor's appointments to ensure that I would grow properly. There weren't many options, but the corrupted guilds provided shelter, healthcare, and food for their own. My father knew what he had to do and corrupted himself." Tyrus let the words leave his mouth as if he was numb to them all. As if they didn't affect him, but his body language said differently.
"When a fairy corrupts themselves, they corrupt everyone in their bloodline following them. With every child, the corruption is less present. Me being his child, I immediately became partially corrupted, but that corruption somehow allowed me to have the powers that I wield. I went to fairy school, as was required for every fairy with powers, corrupted or not. I was the only male in my class and succeeded above all of my counterparts. My teachers sung my praises to the point where Her Majesty decided to meet me. We immediately clicked, and she promised me one thing. She promised me that although I would never be able to work as a true fairy due to my corruption, she would help me make a life for my own. A life where corruption wouldn't hold me back." I looked Tyrus in the eyes no different than before. Aqua had taught me a valuable lesson with her deception: character is worth more than supernatural species.
Silas kept rubbing circles into Tyrus's as he said, "Tell them why this is so important."
Tyrus drew back his wings, forming black tattoo-like versions of the wings on his back. He snapped his finger, making him fully clothed. "A corrupted fairy can sense corruption. Those shifters were laced in corrupted fairy magic. Whoever is behind all of these shifter attacks also has a corrupted fairy behind them, and a strong one at that." Tyrus sat back down in his chair, leaning back and crossing his legs.
Santino stood up and said, "If there was corrupted magic, it would make sense that Aqua conjured the Ancestral Dragon of Light with their apprenticeship markings. Queen Mia Rose and Tomoe and Kou are both extremely close to the Ancestral Dragons. It would only make sense that their student would be as well, and when needed they would send the Ancestral Dragon best suited for the situation. Light counteracts darkness. But there still leaves the questions of how they found out about Aqua's whereabouts, and why they are trying so hard to kill her."
I stood up from my chair and said, "I understand that someone is targeting Aqua for the powers that they can gain, but there has to be another reason. Why would someone go so far as to invade Vampire Court just to get her?"
