A Welcome Surprise

    I drop into a chair in the lobby waiting for Killua and Alluka. "They're five minutes late. We said 15 not 20." I think playing with my shorts. I look around the room trying to find a way to entertain myself.

  "Excuse me sir? Have you seen my boyfriend? I was supposed to meet him here." A light voice says next to me. "I don't know what does he-" I say turning to the voice but stop when I see a shock of white hair.

   My cheek grow hot seeing Killua appear seemingly out of nowhere. "I have no idea who you are talking about." I say to him grinning. "I don't recall you ever asking to be my boyfriend."

   "Whaaaat?" He says frowning. "That's not faaaiirrr!" Alluka giggles behind him. "Well one of us has to make it official." I tell him booping him on the nose. He blushes bright.

    "Now come on Killua~! I'm hungry!" I whine. "Ok ok. Let's see if we can find something." He says taking my hand in his. "You two are so cute!" Alluka says happily.

   Me and Killua blush brightly at this and I smile at her. "Stop it Alluka! That's embarrassing!" Killua says hiding his red cheeks with his free hand. "Why you hiding Killua? You are so cute when you're blushing!" I tease

   "Cut it out! I thought you wanted to go eat." He says to me frowning. "Ohhh loosen up killua!" I chirp. I start walking dragging him behind me Alluka following. "Onīsan! I think we should get ramen!" She says throwing out dinner ideas.

   "That's not a bad idea. I overheard some people talking about a good ramen place a couple of blocks away. Close to the airport." I explain as we leave the hotel. "That sounds great!" Killua says enthusiastically. I lead the way with Killua beside me and Alluka behind us.

    "This ramen place seems small to be popular.." Killua says skeptically as we stand outside the entrance of the restaurant. The small building sits a few blocks away from the airport in a dirtier part of the city.

    "Looks can be deceiving." I say hopeful. Killua glances at me raising an eyebrow. "I hope you are right." I open the door and the air conditioning slaps us. "Welcome! Please take a seat anywhere!" Says a waitress by the door.

    I look around my eyes wide. It's so clean in here. The floors shine like a mirror. We walk over to a free table near the bar and take our seats. Me and Killua on one side. Alluka on the other. "Ok. Gon was right. Guess that, never judge a book by its cover, saying isn't bs."

    I squeeze his hand. "See? Just like when I met you!" He smiles and laughs at this. "That is also true."

   "Hi my name is Lulu! I'll be your waitress this evening." A woman says stepping up to our table. She has long flowing dark hair that almost billows like a cape behind her when she walks. "Can I start by taking your drink orders?"

    I nod and order a water. Killua orders a soda, while Alluka gets apple juice. Lulu nods and walks off to get our drinks. "Now let's see what's on this menu." I say picking one up off the table.

    "Well I dunno where to start on this menu. I've never seen so much ramen." Killua says looking over his. Alluka nods in agreement. "If you don't know what to try I'd recommend the Tsukemen. It's probably one of their best dishes here." A voice says to the left of Alluka.

   "Who...said that?" Killua says now on edge his nails sharpening on reflex. "Oh come now, you can't tell me you don't recognize my voice."

    Hearing it again I do recognize it but can't place it. "You guys are no fun." The voice says disappointed. The seat next to Alluka presses down and Meleoron appears next to her. "Yo!" He says raising his hand.

    "Meleoron!" I say excitedly, Killua let's out a breath relaxing. "What are you doing in the city?" I ask happy to see another friend. "Well me and the octopus have been traveling around exploring and seeing places. Since the Hunter Association has us labeled as magical beasts we don't have to fear much." He explains. He's about to continue when he's cut off.

    "DON'T CALL ME OCTOPUS!" Ikalgo shouts at him angrily running up along side the table. Killua grins at this. "Ikalgo!" Ikalgo looks at Killua in surprised as if he just noticed him. "Killua?! What are you doing here?"

   "We were about to ask you two the same when Meleoron explained." Killua answers. Ikalgo pulls up a free chair and sits at the end of the table. "Ok so then what about you three?" He asks.

   "Well I was here because I was the phase one examiner for this years hunter exams." I say. "Killua and Alluka have been traveling around like you guys." They nod. "Did you guys know each other where here?" Meleoron asks.

    Killua shakes his head. "Nope. It's a funny story actually. Yesterday morning me and Alluka were getting ready for our day. We were in the hotel lobby having breakfast when I see this one." He gestures to me. "Running and grabbing a muffin before sprinting down the street."

  Killua pauses his story when Lulu returns with our drinks. We all decided to order the Tsukemen. She also got Meleoron and Ikalgo's drink orders.

   Killua resumes the story when she walks away. The two of us taking turns about what happened prior to our meet up and after. We left out the part of what I did at the theater.

   "Couple of love birds over here then?" Meleoron says grinning. "I'm glad you two found some happiness after everything that happened." We nod. "We've been through a lot. All of us. But here we are, a year later having dinner in Yorknew." I say cheerily.

    "Still pretty crazy though Gon." Killua says. "But we are here now aren't we?" I ask. "Well obviously." I kiss his cheek. "Then nothing to worry about!" I smile at him his cheek pink as he smiles. "I think you are right." Lulu returns with the drinks for the two Chimera Ants and places them in front of them. She hurried off to the kitchen to check on our orders.

    Ikalgo raises his glass. "I propose a toast. To friends new and old, from the good times to the bad times. And to our health, in hopes we will all be here for a long time! Being with each other every step of the way!" We all raise our cups and tap them together. "Cheers!" We say in unison.
