Chapter 4

Blue hadn't come for awhile. She saw some faces, Yautja that hurried in and out of her room. Uttering strange languages and doing strange things, inserting different crystals here and there. Her body burned from the heat, humid yet dry it made her head spin. Sometimes she asked things, things that slipped her mind moments after. But there were never any replies here.
The pain was subsiding, ever so slightly it lessened at every passing day. Somedays she could lift herself into a sitting position and others she almost cried to lift her head. Walking was a liberty, somehow the Yautja always knew when she had the thought to walk. Since they always stopped her, without physical restraint- that was a relief. They must've had cameras in the room but she hadn't found them yet.
Today seemed different, she found herself sitting up against the metal wall to her own surprise. A tray of food was on the table next to her, eaten for the most part. It was strange food with a smell that made her throat feel funny. Catherine had assumed the food was plant based, either that or some aliens had really strange meat.
Her eyes lifted to the door when it swung open, settling on the shape of Gwan. She hadn't seen him for a fair while, since the incident back with the child. She tried not to think of it often but somehow it managed to snake its way into her thoughts. The trembling. Roars. The fiery pain from the claws. Her jaw clamped down hard and she found herself looking down, as if Gwan himself triggered the memory to surface.
He didn't speak, which only made her uncomfortable. For the specific reason that she knew he knew English, recalling the last time he had spoke to her.
"I need a shower."
No you need answers. She corrected to herself, even though a shower was fairly high on her list. She observed as he looks at her, the two locking eyes. One golden- with a weird iris and the other brown, tired and aching for answers. At first he doesn't say anything as he approaches the side of the bed, and a chart that she guessed recorded her statistics.
"That's not my decision to make, but I suppose we could try and arrange that."He spoke as he looked over the chart. She kept her eyes on him even though he didn't spare her a glance, going on as if she hadn't even been in the room. She waited, feeling her patience slip further and further away every so often.
"Your going to be moved to another room." His voice startled her thoughts, Catherine blinking then looking at him with a questionable stare.
"I am?" She asks, her eyes at a slightly narrow with his words. He would nod, coming up beside her as she kept an eye on him. Gwan removed the IV from her arm as he spoke. "We recently picked up a small ship of hunters from our clan, some are injured. I'm putting them into the medical bay, and your injuries seemed to have healed well so I'm moving you."
Gwan explained, continuing to remove other IVs. She had countless. She wasn't sure why so many, and had asked but no one had told her. He comes to her right hand which was still bandaged from the knife she had grabbed, by the blade. Slowly removing it until she could see the extent of it.
To her surprise the laceration across her palm was stapled shut, instead of stitching. It looked to have been healing good, though it made her grimace when she realized there'd most definitely be a scar. She put her hand down to not look at it, instead paying attention to Gwan as he continued on.
