"Everyone to the garden of Eden." called out the arch angel Gabriel. one by one we filed into a single line and walked our way into the true paradise of our heaven. the smell of the different trees tied itself around our noses, and the petrichor enriched the blended scents of the vibrant Garden. The overwhelming calamity almost makes you forget what's going on.

"My brothers and sisters inform me that Marie will be at the foot of the gates soon." Gabriel insisted.

The angels always look so authoritive and yet they have this calm and graceful ring to their tone. I've never seen their wings myself but I hear that when they are about to take off their wings glisten against light and they themselves battle against the surrounding darkness.

"it's Marie!" yelled one of the lights. we are lights because or souls were born from stars. everyone began to panic and shove their way into the garden. I felt cold shoulders run against mine as they opposed my direction. I have to see her. I've never seen a demon. I walk up against the broad and tall iron fence. Feeling the cold dew left behind by dawn, my only warmth coming from the spotlights scattered across the ground. And just as I walked passed the bright green leaves covered in tiny bulbs of water I saw her. Marie isn't like what they described demons to be. She looks like us. There aren't any particular dark qualities about her either. Her blonde hair flows to her shoulder like a cascade of light. And eyes so blue they can pass for the earth's sky. She's so small and frail.

"Marie" the word escaped my lips like an exhale. She turned her head like a deer caught in the headlights. She approached the fence and I suddenly felt fear shoot up my spine. She came closer to the fence. Sweat damped my palms. Her thin pink lips parted to speak.

"It's Maria."
