I walked along the path that directed me back to the lights and I suddenly felt a pain in my chest when I thought of Gloria's suffering, I felt shudders run down the skin that blanketed my spine. And suddenly a warm and familiar hands rested on my shoulders releasing an avalanche of emotion.
"Payton." I turned to him with a stream of blue running down my cheek. My vision of the boy with gold curls blinded.
"Wha... What is this" My chest tightened as I said the butchered phrase with the after taste of salt. I've never felt this way here. Not in heaven.
"Payton, it's ok" Michaels hands squeezed my shoulders to pull me into his comforting arms. The warmth of his chest against my cheek calmed my breathing. The sweet smell of grass emenated from the boy. No. That description just doesn't give it justice.
"They'll find a way to save her. If she was meant to be here then she'll come back."
My heart felt as if it would pound out of my chest when he comforted me. It felt so warm here. These feelings are confusing. I've never felt any of these emotions before. Heaven was a place of relaxation so why do I feel so horrible?
"Thank you, Michael." I said pushing away from his arms. It's strange feeling this way, is it really Gloria? Or is Michael making me feel like this? Either way I hate it. I should be focusing on how to help Gloria.
"Celine will be catching up with us soon. Her friend might know something." A smile with a mixture of pity marked his face.
"Hey! Hey Payton! Hi!" Celine ran toward us panting with her bright hair following.
"Have you heard?! Ok so..." She trailed off a moment distracted.
"You seem... Puffy? And pink." Her dubious stare watched a moment and just as I opened my mouth to explain.
"Well apperantly five lights have gone missing! All of them! Poof!" Her eyes wild with curiosity.
"They think the first one was Alison! No wonder. I thought she'd moved constellations!" Her hair bounced with every word. With a burning spirit of inquiry.
"We just got word that Gloria went missing too." His tone serious and flat. Almost as a matter of factly response.
I should consult the arch angel. But what would I say? I don't have more information. Suddenly a gust of wind that sent our hair dancing and forced our eyes shut along with the sound of heavy feathered wings. I open my eyes and find myself in a deeper part of the garden. Lush flora surrounded the leak of light that poured through the hanging silver clouds.
"What was it you experienced just now Payton?" Blue eyes met mine with the familiar furrowed brows.
"I... It was I..." My thoughts scrambled to find the right words.
"Keep it short I don't have time for this." His serious tone edged itself and felt so hostile.
"I cried. Well I think I..."
"Shut it." The words so swift and momentous.
" Angel Nephila" he commanded.
Again the wind took hold of my hair and white dress as yet another angel landed in sight.
"Arch Angel Gabriel." Her voice was different from the other angels. Her voice was like a song, a symphony of honey and lavender.
"Explain what you need to I have other important tasks at hand" his wings took off once more and just as swiftly and as suddenly as he came, he was gone.
" Payton? Yes?" Her big maple brown eyes framed with big curly brown hair expressed her emotions louder than her words.
"Yes. Who are you? Why did he bring me here?" I tried dysiphering the situation.
"I'm a seraphim angel, I help complete the duties of arch angels. My name is Nephila. May I ask you something? You said you experienced crying? Here?"
"Um... Yes it was frighting actually."
"I'm guessing they weren't tears of joy or we wouldn't be here today now would we?" Her big bright smile adorned with freckled cheeks helped me relax a lot more than when I was around Gabriel. Her face suddenly transitioned from the happy bright young face to a serious and almost pitying expression.
"We have reason to believe you are very different than who you think you might be. It's hard to understand now but memories will soon turn up as you continue to experience negative emotions."
Her time continued its serious path.
"Wait... What does that even mean? I don't know who I am?" The wind started rising again forcing my eyes shut yet again.
"Nephila!...Nephila!" I yelled into the bridal wind.
"Whose Nephila? Where did you go?" Michael asked as he touched my shoulders. There it is again. The tight feeling in my chest. Does this have to do with who I really am?
"Michael." The name slipped out of my lips.
Who am I?
