Dawn grew out of the horizon to meet us with its dancing orange lights, awakening us with warmth on our cheeks.

"Good Morning, Payton." Michaels smile shined bright in the morning sun. His blonde curls blinding.

"Good morning." I replied rubbing my eyes. He stared at me for moment, focused on my hand.

"What?" I asked

"I can't decide what color your eyes are." He said continuing to focus, not on my hand, but what was behind it.

"I think they're green." I said a bit nervously.

"Good morning." said a yawning Celine.

"Good morning." Michael and I said unanimously. My heart was already pounding from that compliment so my greeting sounded rushed. Celine stretched out her arms and yawned.

"I'm going to check on Dianne, see you guys soon." she shot up and walked the other direction.

"Michael, can I ask you something?" I asked.

"Anything." he smiled brightly.

"I went to see Maria yesterday." I confessed.

"Are you ok? Did she hurt you?" He said with concern on his face.

"I'm fine, really, Gloria saved me. But she's gone. I think the demons might have taken her." I said worriedly.

"Let's consult the arch angel." Michael consulted.

I nodded and we headed towards the familiar iron gates. The gates where locked with a large silver chain. The dew was still perched on the fence. I suddenly felt a hand on my shoulder and turned around to see Gabriel.

"Arch Angel." I said relieved.

"I need to speak with you, alone." He said looking at Michael.

"I'm going to catch up with Celine." Michael said a little intimadatly. Gabriel motioned me towards the fence where I met Maria. We stood in silence for a moment in the shade of the brushery.

"Explain." He said in one deep breath.

"Gloria saved me but she couldn't save herself." I paused a moment.

"Maria smeared her blood onto Gloria's forehead and said something, terry or tarra, and then Gloria vanished."

"Terrae. She said Terrae." He interrupted with furrowed dark brown eyebrows over his bright blue eyes.

"She sent Gloria to live on earth. That is the only way they can taint and collect her soul. The only thing we can do is wait. I'll see you soon." He finally said. With a gust of wind and the sound of heavy feathered wings forcing me to cover my eyes, he left.

Gloria is back on earth waiting for her soul to be collected by demons. Who knows the state of the earth now. No one has lived there for 220 years; the apocalypse wiped everyone out. she is gone and it's because of my stupid curiosity...

She saved me. And now she's been assigned the horrible fate of living...

I need Michael.

Sorry for taking so long guys, I have school and I've had writers block, but I'll write more promise!
