I am so sorry for not updating as much as I should. Life gets so busy.

Why. Just why.
Why does this happen? I see this happen in entertainment more often than it should.

First off, I'm not saying one can't write about an abusive relationship. They do exist, and it can be good to write about them in a realistic fashion, as it can be a good basis for conflict in a story.
However, when an author decides to romanticize this relationship, then I become upset.

I find this trope happens more often in books. I am not fond of romance novels, but by reading synopses and reviews of books in the genre, I know many other people share the same opinion on the trope and are just as annoyed by it as I am.

There is no love in an abusive relationship, so why should authors make it seem these mannerisms are alright? Unfortunately, younger readers (or watchers, if it is a movie, TV show, etc) can get wrong ideas on what a good relationship is like, eve...

Whether it is a husband abusing his wife or vice versa to a parent harming their child, it shouldn't be seen in entertainment as acceptable.

There, that simple.

Side Rant :

Not necessarily related to this trope, but I wanted to get this point across anyway.

It is not only women who are in abusive "romantic" relationships. Yes, there are more cases of a man harming a woman in a relationship, but that doesn't mean men don't experience these relationships.

It is possible for a man to be abused in a relationship. Whether it is a straight or homosexual relationship, it can happen, and I wish the people around me did not ignore this fact.
