Hold me, please

I look up, the sky is slowly being swallowed by angry grey clouds, I have at least 15 minutes before I'm home and it looks like it'll start any second. I need to get home really quickly, but I have no way except for running, and I can't run, with my luck I'll probably trip and hurt myself. Connor stayed home today, for god knows what reason, he probably just wanted to sleep, but he won't see me or anything so I just have to suck it up.

The rain starts softly hitting my hair, the drizzling, will soon become rain, and then a downpour, hopefully, there won't be any thunder or lightning if there is I'm going to be in trouble. Maybe I'll get lucky and Jared, Mom, or Zoe, might drive by, see me, and pick me up and bring me inside because me being me will probably get sick. I got sick when I went outside during a snowstorm to get the mail, and I ended up having Connor take care of me (mostly because of the fact that my mom was really busy at work)

The rain starts picking up, the wind also starts picking up with it, and a see a flash of lightning, followed by the sound of thunder, scaring me out of my witts. I start booking it home, I have like a 10-minute walk, maybe a 5-minute run, but I have no endurance or stamina so it will probably be an 8-minute walk/run.

I, being so completely and utterly lucky, trip over an uneven pathway. I land on the ground, not being able to catch myself, so my face, arms, legs, knees, and probably more scrape, and most of it starts bleeding. I look around, I notice I'm in front of Connor's house, I look up to his window and see a shadow rush away. The next thing I remember is seeing lightning cover my vision, and hearing thunder really close by.

"Ev? Oh my gosh, Ev are you okay?" His frantic voice asks me

"Yeah I'm fine, just tripped" thunder bombed again

"No your not" He scoops me off and takes me up to his room and takes out the medical kit he keeps in his room, I usually come over here with some form of bruise or scrape I didn't realize I had.

From his room, I can hear the soft pitter-patter of the rain hitting the roof, but the thunder is still at it's fullest volume, just perfect, right? Yeah, maybe for someone who likes it, I wish I did.

"Okay there, come here Ev" Sits down and scoots back to lean against the headboard, I crawl over to him, and fall into his arms now realizing that I was shaking. One of his hands rests on my back while he runs the other through my hair.

"It's okay Ev, he isn't coming back, and I won't let him hurt you, and he won't be allowed near you as long as I'm here."

I nod and slowly nod off to sleep.
