7:00 p.m.

Norman ran his final test on his glider and orange combustion grenades. He hated doing this, but he was too far gone now. After calibrating the final touches, he placed on his armor and grabbed his mask. His eyes turned their eerie, glowing green hue, bringing out the Goblin in full force again. He pulled the mask over his face, flinching as the cold, green latex slid over his cheeks. Goblin walked over to a mirror in the lab and looked at himself. Norman was gone at the moment, and the mask began to feel like his new skin. His purple lips, his long nose, and pointed ears all felt like it was a part of who he was...who it was. Norman was right: that serum was the next era of human evolution, and Goblin was it. Never before had he felt stronger or more aware of his surroundings.
He pulled his hood over his head. "Now," he said to himself, "time to meet the Spider-Man."
He walked over to the glider and activated the implamted neural link in his vertebrae. Slowly, the glider began to raise off of the ground as he stood upon it. Then, he threw one of the grenades at the nearest window in the lab, and a great explosion shook the floor he was on. He shot through to the outside on his new ride. Next stop: ESB.
He began to sing to himself. "The itsy bitsy spider..."

7:30 p.m.

Harry and Gwen rushed to the Empire State Building as fast as they could. There were no police cars yet, so they could wait for Peter to get there...if he was truly Spider-Man.
"I hope this goes the way we planned it," Harry said. "Peter is making a big mistake."
Gwen breathed in the cold New York air. "This has to work, Harry," she responded. "We're his friends. He may have ignored us, but we can still connect to him."
"I hope so," he responded.

7:45

Peter put his spidey outfit on under his regular clothes. He didn't know what the outcome of this was going to be, so it was best that he at least told Aunt May that he was going out. He walked down the stairs and prepared himself for questioning.
May was sitting on the couch and watching a movie. She looked up at her nephew walking by. "Peter, where are you going this late?" she asked.
"I'm, uh, going over to Harry's to work on a new science project," he lied quickly. "It's on this new chemical product that Oscorp made and the teacher is being a total jerk about it, so yeah, I just gotta go finish it." He hoped she would believe it.
"On a Saturday?" she asked.
"Yeah, it sucks. You know how it is, May. Science never sleeps." He realized how corny that sounded out loud.
She looked at him for a few seconds. "Okay," she finally said. "Well, text me if you're going to have to spend the night. I heard that there's a lot going on in the city tonight so I think it's best that you stay only at Harry's."
"I will, May, don't worry. Love you!" He ran out the door.
"I love you..." The door slammed. "...Too."
Peter made sure that the coast was clear, and he swung to the top of one of the neighbor's roofs. After webbing up his clothes on the side of his house, he put his mask on and swung to the Empire State Building. It was time...

7:50

The police had begun surrounding the place. At least if things went south, the police would be able to get some good licks in on the Goblin. Spidey landed next to the chief's car and knocked on her window. She was startled for a second, until she knew who it was.
"I was beginning to think you wouldn't show," she said exiting her car while looking at her watch. She caught herself smirking a bit but quickly erased it.
"Yeah, that's not how I roll, chief," he responded. "This needs to happen." He looked around at the civilians with their phones out, recording what was about to happen. "If it goes south, you better make sure you can get these people out of here."
She shook her head. "Don't worry about them, Spider-Man. Just worry about taking that son of a bitch down. This needs to end one way or another." Yuri then reached out her hand and handed him a microphone.
"Why do I need this?" he asked while grabbing it and placing under his mask.
"We'll wire you directly to the snipers we've set up in the buildings surrounding the ESB," she said while pointing at the rooftops. "If anything goes wrong, they'll receive the order to open fire."
He nodded. "Good to know."
