chapter eight – Tommy's room, Tommy's car and Tommy's eyes
All I wanted was to get drunk and forget all about my ex boyfriend and his new girlfriend. To go to a high school party to celebrate the football teams win and I don't know? Maybe be happy for once.
But of course nothing can come that simple to Mariah London.
"You seriously brought me to a party at Ryan Baker's house?" I let out a frustrated groan as we pulled up to the house that housed my enemy. "Why would you think this would be a good idea?"
"It's not that big of a deal, Mar" Kris rolled her eyes from the drivers seat.
"It's kind of a big deal, Kris" Jesse spoke from the back seat and I clapped my hands.
"Thank you. At least someone isn't oblivious to my problem with this" I squinted at my best friend and she just flipped her long black hair.
Kris isn't stupid. She just has a warped sense of reality. I know for a fact that she thinks that this will somehow help me get over Chris. How? I have no idea and I know for a fact that this wont work. There's two possibilities that could happen tonight.
Possibility A; I get really drunk. I see Chris and Ryan all over each other. I get angry. I try to beat up Ryan. I really am a Queen Bitch.
Possibility B; I get really drunk. I see Chris and Ryan all over each other. I get really sad. I try to rekindle my romance with Chris. I really am a Queen Bitch.
Either way I end up looking really bad and I don't like it. I just want to have a normal night for once where Ryan Baker isn't at the forefront of my mind.
"Jesse, no drinking. You're driving home" I speak up.
"Come on. Just one drink? Ill be fine to drive-"
"No. You agreed to be the designated driver. I swear to god if you drink-" Kris cut off my rant by rubbing my arm.
"Alright fine" Jesse nodded. Great, more people to think I'm a bitch.
But on this topic I am. I will not let anybody drive while under the influence of anything. Not since the accident that killed my Mom...
"Let's go have some fun" Kris squealed as she dragged both me and Jesse down the walkway. I guess neither of us are happy about tonight.
We walked past a couple making out on the porch swing and I sighed. I miss having someone to do that with.
We walked into the house and I took in my surroundings. I've never actually been inside Ryan's house but I did show up here looking for Chris before we broke up. The couches were pushed up against the walls to make room for the massive pile of teenagers dancing in the middle of the room. The flat screen was playing music from spotify and the whole room smelled like booze.
"You guys made it" Vincent danced his way over to us and I laughed a little bit at his antics. I saw Kris roll her eyes but the small smile on her lips tells me she's into it.
"Yeah well, we thought we would just stop by before heading to the next party" Kris' eyes scanned the room and she made an unimpressed expression.
She's of course lying to get on Vincent's nerves. She's not that much of a snob.
"Oh, well, let me show you around. Maybe I can convince you to stay the night"
And then Vincent and Kris disappeared into the crowd of dancing kids.
"Well I guess-" My comment is cut short when I realize Jesse is no longer with me. "It's just me"
You know those girls who hate parties? Yeah I'm not one of those girls. I love going out and socializing with the help of some throat burning alcohol. But ever since last year, it wasn't fun when I was only being invited out of fear. But tonight felt different for some reason.
