I Never Wanted To Be a Hero

Chapter 4

"Kid, that yesterday that you died... was not yesterday, it was... ten months ago."

Those words kept on repeating inside Yujin's head. Even after a few days, Yujin was still flustered by hearing that. After a few days, somebody came to his room. A group of people wearing suits.

"Good morning Yujin, we worked for the government, I'm Ur'aegis Harold, a seeker," said the man in the middle.

"Ur'aegis?? Oh...", suddenly Yujin bowed as much as he could despite still not being able to use his legs.

"You don't need to do that, I may be a royalty, but I'm not here being a royalty, I'm here for government issues", Harold replied.

Yujin then raised his head.

"As you know kid, this world is mysterious, a lot of secrets left to us by God and the World-Eater, that's why there are people like us, Seekers. And from what I heard, you also dreamed of becoming one"

Harold started taking out pictures from his folder. Yujin was listening but couldn't help being distracted by the topless woman on the other side of the bed.

"But as you decode those secrets, you also find yourself in dangerous situations. That's why, we, the real seekers, are the ones who should deal with those situations. But you guys we're unlucky. At a young age, you forced to face an overwhelming force." Harold continued

He then showed pictures of the people who survived. One of the pictures was Chadwick and a woman sitting on the bed, shaking, and is covered with government towers. Another picture was Reina being treated. But as Yujin saw Reina. His head started having headaches.

"Aaarrggggggg‼" Yujin screamed.

One of Harold's men stood up and called the doctor.

"The big question is... if you had the power... will you avenge the humiliation that you suffe—," those words were repeating in Yujin's head while seeing visions of both Reina and the molten being who uttered those words.

Doctor Serin came and injected as Yujin has gone crazy. After a few seconds, Yujin fell unconscious.

Yujin woke up on a bright morning, and the same people were in the room, the topless woman beside him, the guys in black suits and doctor Serin and his crew.

"Yujin, you've been sleeping for 3 days. If you think that these guys are asking you that much, or your head couldn't handle it, just say it. Because you just woke up, the worst thing that could happen is that you could get back to coma," the doctor explained.

"I don't think we have the time for that", Harold added, "I'm gonna explain to you, why are we really here, because of this..."

He showed a photograph of Braden.

"His father, Ur'Doran Bradford. Despite just being born to a branch family, trained so hard that much that he could even stand against us royalties. Another thing is that he was smart enough to achieve being so influential in the kingdom. With those two qualities, sometimes we hoped he'd just be born a royalty. But even a man as great as he couldn't protect his child. Right now, your hospital bills are left unpaid by your family and yet you're still here. Also, you've woke up for a few days now and yet your family still wasn't here... why did you think so?" Harold asked.

Yujin was still confused about what's happening. From time to time, his head is suddenly hurting.

Harold continued, "Because Bradford watched you after all this time. Right after you were discovered on that river to the point that you were brought here by your family. He's been watching you ever since then. For one and only reason. For his one and only son. After your family ran out of money, they decided not to revive you anymore since you're not even improving, but as you woke up, we got the first news, he stopped your family from knowing and pay your hospital bills from that day up until today."
