"c'mon."

josh stumbles, blinded from a small but thick piece of fabric covering his eyes. it's mid-summer, and the trees blow in the wind calmly, as tyler brings the boy to a small hill.

they're climbing, and tyler's ambition is strong.

the little grass blades sway softly, the curls in josh's hair frantically partying, the hurried feet of the two young gentlemen; it's perfection. josh's little feet pitter patter in the grass, barefoot, and twisted. he is still struggling to run, but he's got walking down.

they reach the top of the hill. there is the sun, shining bright in her glory. she doesn't try to hide; not anymore. tyler is the sun, though he used to be a hidden little moon. now he shines bright, unhidden, and gleaming with a fun energy that brings smiles.

"can i take it off now?" the boy smiles, and his pearly whites peer through the scratch piece of fabric.

"not yet, sweets." josh's smile fades, he sits himself down cautiously, and picks under his nails while he waits. tyler is preparing a cliché picnic evening.

the stars are their friends, so tyler figures they could stay til sundown. he brought blankets.

"okay, let me.." the brunette goes behind the other and takes off the blindfold. josh's eyes widen with the adjustment of the bright sunshine.

once he sees the cute little fruits, sandwiches, and... is that wine? that he prepared for them.

"it's- it's so perfect," he grins ear-to-ear, as the dandelions join the party the trees, grass, and josh's hair have been dancing at.

there's something else tyler wants to dance though.

"c'est la vie," the younger kicks back, leaning with his hands behind him. "so you speak french, now?"

his laugh holds drops of honey, "no, silly, it means 'that's life'."

"oh," tyler grins, and the great big sun begins her journey downtown. before she makes it all the way, the snacks have vanished. before she goes, tyler lifts the other up. they're standing on their own two feet, but it seems like they're co-dependent.

"this has been so magical, i never want it to end," josh mumbles, thinking they're heading back home. "how can i ever repay you?"

the other is saddened at the thought of guilt josh holds. "no, we aren't done, goof. and i ask just one thing-"

josh's dark chocolate eyes star at him, wide and fragile, like a piece of glass, or a baby deer.

"will you dance for me, j?"

josh smiles at the familiar request, and all he can do is try.

"i'll help you out, just- please?" he is begging now, so broken. he misses the serene and elegant moves of his lover. it's been a few months or so, but that's too long since he's seen him dance.

"okay," they both smile, one out of excitement, the other in fear.

tyler takes josh's hands, and he spins the other around, josh falling to the ground.

"it's okay, baby, get back up, it's not gonna work on the first try."

through many tries and fails, josh finally dances and wobbles on his own. it's so beautiful. it's so sad. by now, they're beneath stars. the whole scenery makes tyler want to cry tears of joy. the effort and passion josh has through his stumbles, it's inspiring. he can tell josh has missed it. his little shakes remind him of that baby deer. so tiny, so weak, so naive. he can't remember, but there was this deer he saw in a disney movie when he was younger. when he was naive, too.

josh moves like that baby deer, so cautious and unknowing. and then tyler remembers that deer. he smiles so wide, so so wide.

"your legs are so weak- you might as well be bambi! you're just as cute, too." he laughs, only in a state of pure bliss. the younger laughs at himself, too. he knows exactly what his love means, and he agrees.

"yeah- yeah?! well you're-you're uh- thumper!!!! yeah!!! he's so annoying!!"

josh falls again, being caught by the other.

"looks like you fell for me," tyler chuckles. josh's deer eyes sparkle in his love. he speaks six words that prove said love, "you're such an idiot, tyler joseph."

"josh?"

the calm of the night makes tyler whimper at his next thought.

"i love you, really love you."

"i know," his smile is sweet, comforting. "i love you, more."

the wine, of which josh has no idea how it was achieved, is then cracked open. he takes a sip. it is repulsively disgusting.

but he likes tyler, so he'll like wine.

tyler doesn't know that bambi was josh's favorite movie as a child.

"want any more, bambi?" the brunette asks, "i'm good, thumpa," the other slurs and giggles.

"i'm so good," josh says, and his eyes do that twinkle thing again. they do it much better than the stars ever did, in tyler's opinion.
