Roman and Virgil hurriedly ran along the wet, rainy path, taking shelter under a tree. They were both laughing at the irony of the situation.
They were in the middle of a path, Virgil was complaining about the sun being too hot, when it suddenly started raining out of no where, so they had to run and take shelter somewhere.
Truthfully, Virgil didn't mind, he absolutely adored the rain, and Roman knew this, so they stayed outside.
They sat in silence for a few minutes, leaning on each other and just taking in the view.
After a while the rain eased up and it was ok enough to step out from under the tree. The sun was out, but it was still lightly drizzling, resulting in the appearance of Roman's favorite part of nature: a rainbow.
Virgil went out on a small dock to see it clearly and Roman followed closely behind. Virgil looked content with his life while he was staring up at the rainbow, and Roman didn't know what he was thinking about, but what ever it was, it made him smile, and that was all Roman needed to know as he stood behind the love of his life.
Roman braced himself. There was a reason he brought Virgil out here, but now he was nervous. Oh shit, he should have thought this through.
'Just say it Roman, just say it!' He thought, looking at Virgil who was still staring at the rainbow.
"Hey Virgil, do you want to hear your gay name?" Roman asked him.
"My... gay name? What are you talking about?" Virgil asked back, not moving from his position.
"Yep, it's your first name..." Roman started his answer.
Virgil rolled his eyes. "Ha ha very funny Ro-" Virgil turned around and cut himself off in the middle of his sentence to lock eyes with his boyfriend, who was down in one knee, with a silver banded, purple teardrop ring in his hands.
"And my last name." Roman finished.
