Suarez saw the front door swing open, expecting Thompson to put the target down, but all he saw was his comrade stumble backwards, clutching desperately at his throat. "Man down!"

Ryan was quickly past the first obstacle, and with one swipe of his blade he had taken his first life; it wouldn't be his last. Already revenge felt good. He rounded the cabin and headed for the garage. If he could get to the quad he'd be out of sight.

"Jackson, cover right. Target is on the move."

As Jackson shifted his focus to the rear porch, he caught sight of Ryan fleeing from the body of Thompson through his night-vision goggles. A squeeze on the trigger and under a hail of bullets the confrontation was over. "Target down, repeat, target down!"

Ryan felt the bullets tear into his torso. The pain was excruciating, and he clutched at his chest as he slammed against the garage door. Looking up, he saw the grinning face of Suarez, who quickly ended their brief encounter with his rifle butt.

Falconi clapped his hands together as he approached the group, hugging Suarez and giving a thumbs up to Thompson. "Excellent work boys. Get him in the chopper, the girl too."

Smyth approached the group with a solemn look on his face. "Sir, bad news. The girl's gone."

Falconi shrugged nonchalantly. "Collateral damage, let's call it. We have the prize though. Load him up and let's get back to base." As Falconi and Suarez headed to the chopper, Jackson and Smyth set about covering their tracks. 'A tragic accident', the locals would call it.
