Chapter 16

Annie's pov.

He drove past my house, causing me to pat his shoulder.

"Umm, Alex you drove right past the turn off," I tried to say loud enough for him to hear me

"I know," he told me, and I tilted my head at him before screaming for a second.

"What?" He questioned confused at my reaction

"I am being kidnapped," I deadplanned.

"No your not," he scoffed at me, driving faster and the wind made his hair fly around like crazy.

"Really? Then take me home," I told him in a serious tone, not liking what was happening.

I felt him move his shoulders, "No can do princess," he said purposely using a French accent.

I rolled my eyes, "Don't call me princess if I were a royal I'd be a queen," I informed him mentally flipping my hair making him laugh.

I sighed, "seriously were are we going?" I asked him and I felt him stiffen up a bit, "Alex?" I said, knocking his head with my fist.

"To meet somebody, now can you shut up," he said to me in a low tone making me want to slap the living daylights out of him.

"Meet who? And don't tell me to shut up-" I cutt myself off when we stopped at a large and tall building, Alex parked the bike and got off, I didn't move an inch.

He ruffled his hair, and looked at me with narrowed eyes, "get off," he said harshly and I crossed my arms.

"This isn't funny, I'm not getting off unless you take me home, my grandparents are probably worried-" I squeeld once Alex picked me up and threw me over his shoulder, it reminded me off when we were kids and he would lift me up like a 5 year old because I wouldn't listen to him.

I shrieked, "Let me go! Alex you dipsh-"

He jumped up and down making me clucht onto his back, "Annie, it won't take longer than an hour," he said to me as he walked inside the building, I couldn't look up and only stared at the floor.

I scoffed at him with a roll of my eyes, I saw shoes and I could tell there were people, my face flushed in embarrassment considering the fact that Alex was still carrying me like a child.

I started to hit his back continuously as we got into an elevator, "Let me go! Shoot," I winced when Alex dropped me, making me land on my but.

I glared at him, "Was that really necessary?" I questioned and he shrugged his shoulders while pressing a button.

I stood up and dusted myself off, "Who are we meeting?" I asked him and he faced me.

"Your aunt," he said and stared into my eyes, making mine go round, "liar, I don't have any other family besides my grandparents," I said to him, and I leaned against the mirror.

Alex was about to speak when the elevator dinged and the doors opened, Alex walked out and I followed behind him.

What does he mean by aunt? I thought to myself, and stared at him as we walked, rather curios as to what was happening.

We made it to a door and Alex knocked before entering, I hesitantly went inside and was hit with a smell of lavender.

I looked around the room and stopped when my eyes landed on my grandparents, I knitted my brows together, "Ma? Pa?" I said confused as to why they were here.

I walked towards them, they stood up.

I hugged them, "What's going on?" I said, but they didn't say anything back to me.

I heard footsteps, making me turn my head to see a lady walk inside and close the door, she has short hair and was fairly tall, I looked to Alex and walked to him.

The lady seemed to have noticed me, "Hi Annie," she said with a big smile and I didn't know what to say because how does she know my name.

"Um, hi?" I said, it came out as a question rather then a greeting, the unkown lady came up to me and hugged me and my breath hitched.

"I'm sorry do I know you?" I said aloud and Alex laughed making me smack his shoulder once I was released from the hug.

"I'm Crystal, your aunt," she told me and I blinked quickly.

The room fell quite, "I'm sorry what?" I said, thinking that it was some kind of joke.

"I think you'll need to sit down for this," Alex whispered in my ear and I nodded before waking to sit next to my ma, while Alex sat down in the corner and Crystal sat behind her desk.

She hesitated before she spoke, "there is something that I should tell you," crystal started off and I rested my arm on the armrest.

"What? Am I in trouble?" I asked and she shook her head.

She let out a deep sigh, "No, well in a way yes," she said in a whisper but I still heard her.

I began to become impatient, "What?" I asked, starting to become really curious.

She looked between me and my grandparents, "It all started 16 years ago, before you were born,"

I'm so sorry for the long wait, I just needed some time off from writing to focus on myself :)

And am I the only one that actually cried like crazy when annie and Asher broke up? :(

Those two made me believe in love, but I will carry on with this book because I want to finish it.

And I hope everybody stays safe, healthy and please social distance yourselfs from others when you go out in public and wear a mask! Please!
