A/N: Picture above is the engagement ring

Annabeth's P.O.V

I was super nervous when Percy invited me to dinner. We'd gone out before, ages of times, in the 6 years that I'd been dating, but this restaurant was so much more fancy than any of the others. I was so worried that he'd found out my secret. I had meant to tell him for 3 weeks, but I could never bring myself to do it. I dressed up, Piper helping me with the make-up, and went off to meet Percy.

When I got to the restaurant, he was already sitting at a table. I went to join him and everything seemed totally normal. We laughed, joked, talked, he acted like the Seaweed Brain he is, but he never brought up my secret. I wasn't even sure how he'd found out, I'd only told Piper, but I was sure that that was why he'd set this date up. It was only during pudding that something different happened.

"Annabeth... We've known each other forever..."

Oh no... Here it comes

"And we've been dating for 5 years now..." He continued "You're my best friend, my soulmate. I love you with all of my heart...And I- I" He got down on one knee and pulled out a grey box "I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Annabeth Chase..." He opened the box. Inside of it was a ring. I couldn't believe it. Tears came to my eyes. "Will you marry me?"

Unable to form proper words, I just nodded. He grinned stupidly and put the ring on my finger.

"I-I have something I need to tell you, Percy..." I managed to force out.

"What is it? Is something wrong?" His eyes filled with worry. It was adorable how much he cared about me.

"I... I'm..........Percy, I-I'm pregnant...."

"Y-You're..... You're what?"

"I'm pregnant."

"H-How....I-"

"How? Do I really need to explain to you how-"

"No, not that! I mean.... How long have you known?"

"Uhhmmm.." I looked down "3 weeks...."

"Why didn't you tell me?"

"I... I was worried you'd be mad at me..... Are you?"

"No, of course not!" He stood up, pulling me to my feet with him and hugging me tightly. "I love you unconditionally, Wise Girl." He whispered in my ear. Pulling away, he laughed "You always have to one-up me, don't you."

"Couldn't let you take all the attention, could I? So.....You're really not mad at me?"

"Of course not! I love you so much, Annabeth. So....You're actually pregnant! We're gonna have a kid!"

"Yeah..." I smiled shyly.

"I love you..." His lips gently pressed against mine, his hands wrapping around my waist. I ran my hand through his hair, leaning into the kiss for a few seconds until I remembered that we were in a public space and pulled away.

"Love you too, Seaweed Brain" I kissed his cheek.

After the meal was over, we walked back to our apartment and I actually got to look at the ring for the first time. It was a plain silver band with a blue gem love heart and silver gems surrounding it. I don't know why, but I just loved it. I was brought back to the real world by Percy's hand in mine.

"So.... What d'you want to call the baby?" He asked.

"I wanna name them... After someone we've lost....Like Zoë, Bianca, Luke, Beckendorf..." I trailed off.

"Hey....It's ok..." He wrapped his arm around my waist.

"It's just..... Have you ever stopped to think about how many people we've lost...."

"Of course. There's not a day that goes by that I don't think about what I could have done to save them... But you can't change the past... You can only look forward to the future... Life gives me a hundred reasons to break down and give up, but I have a million reasons to smile and stay strong... And all of them are you...."

"But life is just.... It's so hard!"

"If life was easy, where would the adventures be? You can't just live your life trying to wait out the storm, you have to learn to dance in the rain.... And I can dance in the rain whenever I'm with you...."

I was shocked at how deep and inspirational Percy had gone, then he ruined it by saying "If the kid's a boy, can we call it Jack so that I can say to him 'Jack, son, you're a Jackson'?"

"You're such a Seaweed Brain!"

We walked the rest of the way in silence, and I thought about what Percy said. He was right. Despite all the hardships and challenges that life had thrown at us, we were still alive, still fighting, still together. The scars would never heal, but as long as we had each other, we could do anything. I loved Percy, my Seaweed Brain, and I couldn't wait to spend the rest of my life with him.
