Not really a Death to Tratie fanfic but when I asked my friend @angryannabeth382 what to name this chapter she said death, so here ya go. This is actually a How Tratie Got Together fanfic.
Katie's P.O.V
I woke up and looked out of the window to see the entire Demeter garden's flowers' heads were cut off. Angrily, I stormed to the Hermes cabin and angrily banged on the door until it opened.
"What?" Travis asked sleepily. He was wearing a grey t-shirt and blue pajama bottoms with caduceus' on it. His mop of curly brown hair wad sticking up everywhere and falling in front of his light blue eyes.
"YOU STUPID HERMES KID! TRAVIS, YOU RUINED THE WHOLE GARDEN! THEY CUT THE HEADS OFF OF ALL OF THE FLOWERS! DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY HOURS I SPENT IN THAT GARDEN, TRAVIS! HOW COULD YOU JUST UNDO ALL OF MY HARD WORK! YOU'RE SUCH A STUPID IDIOT!!!"
"Katie...Katie, it wasn't me, okay."
"WELL IT WAS ONE OF YOU! DOU YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW HARD I WORKED ON THAT GARDEN! HOW MUCH TIME I SPENT NURTURING THOSE PLANTS! AND NOW YOU'VE GONE AND CRUELLY TAKEN THEIR LIVES!!!" I broke down and began crying "I... I worked so hard and it's all ruined now..."
"Hey, it's okay..." Travis said. Then he turned around and yelled to his cabin"Okay, who was responsible for this?"
After a few seconds of awkward silence, one of the kids put their hand up.
"You, Dexter, apologise and instead of your pranking time, you'll be spending it helping Katie and her siblings with the garden."
"Sorry Katie..." The kid mumbled.
"I know we like pranks here, but this went too far. Everyone else, anyone who does anything to Demeter cabin's plants will lose their pranking privilege."
There was a collective groan and Travis added "Any complaining means no M&M's for a month. Get back to whatever you were doing."
I heard a shout of "Damn Travis, harsh!" From Connor before I closed the door behind me. "Are you okay, Katie?"
"Yeah, I'm fine now." I wiped my eyes "Sorry about that.... Thanks for your help, though."
"No problem. That prank was a bit over the line. Come here." He pulled me into a hug before I could react.
"Have we... Ever done this before? Hugged, I mean?"
"Nope. If you tell anyone, I'm afraid I'll have to kill you." He grinned, his eyes sparkling with their usual mischievous glint "You know, I'm a lot more awake now. You're a very effective alarm clock. Maybe I should prank you more often to get you to wake me up."
"Don't you dare, Stoll." I shoved him.
"See ya later, Kit Kat." He went back into his cabin.
Ever since then, we became best friends. It turned out, he was actually really funny, sweet, kind, smart and really inventive, even if he did use that skill for pranks. Everyone thought we were dating. I mean, we did flirt a lot, but that was just the kind of friendship we had. There was no way I'd ever date him.
Travis' P.O.V
I lay awake on my bed, thinking about Katie. We'd been friends for months now and I realised that I had a crush on her when we were kind of flirting and I wished that she and I were actually dating.
"Hey Travis, you awake?" Connor stuck his head over the edge of his bed above mine.
"Uh huh..." I answered distractedly.
"Thinking of Katie again?"
"I can't help it!"
"Just ask her out, man!"
"No way."
"Come on."
"No!"
"I dare ya."
"If you ask Lou Ellen out, I will."
"What? Lou Ellen?"
"You heard me."
"Why would I like Lou Ellen?"
"I've seen the way you look at her."
"What? I-I have no idea what you're talking about. Uhh. Goodnight." He turned over and went to sleep.
After a long time of trying, I finally got to sleep but the dreams were even worse than lying awake, thinking of Katie.
I was on the top of Half-Blood hill, just after the war with Gaea and looking around desperately for Katie.
"Katie!" I yelled "KATIE! WHERE ARE YOU?!"
"Travis! I found her!" Connor yelled.
I rushed to where his voice was coming from, pushing people out of the way. Connor was crouched on the ground, someone lying down beside him. It was...
"Katie!" I ran to her and bent down, cradling her in my arms. "What happened?!"
"Battle.... Almost over... Stabbed in back.... By Dra-Dracena...." Katie gasped.
"No! You-You're gonna be fine. You hear me!"
"Travis, listen... If I don't make it-"
"You will." I said firmly.
"But if I don't.... There's something I want to tell you.... Travis... I love you." She grabbed my shirt and pulled me close, pressing her lips against mine.
"I love you too, Katie." I kissed her.
The wound in her chest was bleeding, seeping into her shirt.
"Travis.... Look after my plants for me, will you?" She smiled weakly and then her vibrant eyes dimmed and she turned limp in my arms.
"Katie...KATIE!!! NO!!!" The unimaginable had happened. The love of my life, Katie Gardner, was dead.
I woke up from my nightmare gasping. It took me a few seconds to realise that it was a dream. Needing fresh air, I got up and walked around the camp, thinking about Katie. By the time I'd reached the Demeter cabin, I'd decided that I needed to talk to her. As I walked towards the door, I noticed a figure bent down by the garden. There was only one person who would be gardening this late at night; Katie Gardner.
"Hey Katie." I said from behind her.
"AAH!" She screamed "Travis! Don't do that!" She smacked me in the chest "Why are you even up now?!"
"Why are you?" I retorted.
"I, uh... I kept thinking about.... Someone... And couldn't sleep, so I... Uh... Well, gardening clears my mind, so.... Yeah.. Why are you up? Why are you here?"
"I... Had a nightmare... About... Losing someone close to me...What were you thinking about?"
"It was... Uhh.... You.... And who were you dreaming about?"
"It was... You dying... I... It was torture..." I began to cry, but wiped my eyes so she didn't notice."
"Travis...." She wiped the tears from my cheek "I will never, ever leave you." She gently pressed her lips against mine.
"Katie, I...." I wrapped one arm around her waist and ran my other hand through her soft brown hair. We stayed like that for a long time, but when we broke up she whispered "Travis... Should we tell the others?"
I smirked "Not in a million years."
