Percy's P.O.V

It was December 6th when I figured out what to get Annabeth for Christmas. It suddenly came to me when I was talking to the boys about it one time and Leo said Just give her your self jokingly, but there was some truth to that. I spent a week looking for the right one, when I finally found it. It was silver with a swirl holding a pearl in the centre. I bought it instantly, knowing that it was perfect.

A week and a half of badly keeping the secret from Annabeth later, it was finally Christmas morning. I was lying in bed, Annabeth wrapped in my arms. Last night, she'd had a nightmare about Tartarus, I'd heard from my cabin, and I'd carried her to my cabin, so she didn't disturb anyone else, and fell asleep with her in my arms. Leo burst into my cabin yelling "IT'S CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!" Then he paused, took in the sight of me and Annabeth and then said "Ooooh! What were you two doing!"

"Shut up, Leo." Annabeth groaned, throwing a pillow at his head. She actually had really good aim.

Will ran in, dragging a very grumpy and sleepy looking Nico in "Come on guys, we're exchanging presents now. We decided to do it in here!"

All of The 7, Calypso and Reyna all came in, each carrying a bag of presents and we sat in a circle to exchange our presents. Will was fully dressed for Christmas as Santa, the hat and jacket and everything, Nico was sat next to him, being held there by Will's hand in his, wearing a black skull t-shirt, black jeans, black leather jacket, skull ring and a reindeer head band that Will had forced on him. Hazel was sat next to him, happily wearing Christmas Harry Potter pajamas. She'd recently read all of the books and was now completely obsessed with it. Frank, sat next to her, was wearing a big fluffy Christmas tree jumper. Leo, who had decided to sit next to Frank to annoy him because of his outfit. Leo was wearing an outfit that he claimed was a fireplace. It was basically brick-patterned clothes with a few socks hanging from his head (as stockings) and he was set on fire, which still made Frank nervous. Calypso - who Leo claimed was dressed as a present because she was a gift to him - was wearing a patterned dress with a red ribbon in her hair. To be fair, she did look quite a bit like a present. Reyna, only here because we forced her to be here, was refusing to dress festively and wore her usual purple t-shirt and jeans. She had also said that she wasn't getting us any presents, though the bag full of them that she brought seemed to indicate the opposite. Jason was sat next to Will, wearing a Camp Half-Blood top with an elf jumper and hat and his pajama bottoms on. Piper was wearing an Olaf jumper, having recently fallen in love with the movie Frozen, though Elsa reminded her of Khione. I still had my blue trident pajamas (that Annabeth had got me for my birthday) on since Leo hadn't given us time to get dressed. Annabeth, even though she had her pajamas on, her hair was messy and she was still half asleep, looked so, so beautiful.

We exchanged presents. I can't remember what everyone got each other, but I know that the cutest one was Frank's to Hazel, which was a light up Christmas tree jumper and hat that she was fascinated by and absolutely loved and the most hilarious present was Leo's to Jason's, which was just a brick with a superman logo stuck on.

When it was my turn to give Annabeth her present, I was so nervous. I gave her the box, wrapped in blue wrapping paper and watched as she opened it. It was a light grey box and, when she opened it, she read the note that I'd written for her that said Will you marry me, Annabeth?

She looked at me, tears in her eyes and mouth agape "P-Percy.... I... R-Really? This isn't a joke, is it? If it's a joke, I swear, I will kill you so hard!"

"No, no, seriously.... I mean it, Annie." I got down on one knee and held the box in my hand "I've been planning this for weeks now and I know that you're the perfect one for me... I love how smart you are, how much you put up with my idioticicy? Idiocity?"

"It's Idiocy."

"Right, that.... I love your smile, I love your laugh, I love how you delight in proving me wrong constantly.... I love how perfect you are for me. I love every single thing about you. I'm surprised daily that you put up with me and don't find someone better...."

"I could never find anyone better than you, Percy..."

"I love you so much Annabeth....Will you marry me?"

"Of course I will!" She kissed me and I heard a chorus of 'Awww's from our friends.

"Oh.... I forgot you guys were here...."

"You guys are so cute!!!!" Piper squealed, her Aphrodite side showing.

"I wish Leo was that romantic!" Calypso complained.

"Hey, now we have to try to beat that, Perce!" Jason groaned.

"Yeah, dude, come on! We're never gonna be able to be that romantic!" Leo sighed.

"Guys, come on, they just got engaged! We need to be squealing and hugging them in an appropriate manner" Reyna said.

"You're right." Hazel walked up and hugged us tight. "Congratulations, you two!"

When Annabeth and I finally got a moment in private, she said to me "Out of all of the presents I got today, yours was only second best."

"What? Why? Which was the best?"

"For the first time..... I felt like I could live a normal life.... Me and you, no monsters, with our crazy, fangirling friends.... To me, that hope is so important....Ever since I was 7, I've always lived this crazy, monster-filled life and with you.....none of that matters.... All that matters..... Is you...."
