Annabeth's P.O.V

I lay on the beach, curled up on the blanket, my head resting on Percy's chest. It was so comforting to just lie there together, no monsters, no life-threatening quest, just me and him alone. I could feel him breathing and his heart beating. It was usually slow and steady, but right now, it was beating super fast.

"Uh... Annabeth...." Percy sat up. "I...Uh, I have a song I want to play for you...." He picked up his guitar.

"How did you even learn how to play guitar, Percy?" I asked. I'd heard him practicing a few times, but someone must have taught him.

"Uh..." He scratched the back of his neck "Well.... A while ago, Apollo promised me free archery lessons, but I traded them for free guitar lessons instead.... I had this plan for.... A year now, and i needed to learn to play guitar for it.... Umm.... I made up a song for you...." He began playing a tune on his guitar and then sang along "Roses are red and Cookies are blue,"

I couldn't help but laugh at this bit.

"I would do anything for you.... My life just seems better with you by my side, so Annabeth, my love, will you be my bride?" He put the guitar down and pulled out a blue box. As he opened it, tears came to my eyes. There was a gold ring inside of it.

"Percy.... I-"

"Annabeth.... The day you said to me 'You drool when you sleep.' was the best day of my life. Everytime I hear 'Seaweed Brain' my heart flutters because it makes me think of you and how amazing you are. You are the most perfect person in the world and I love you more than anything. I would do anything to make you safe, make you happy. I would go through.... through Tartarus a hundred times if it meant you were safe.... I love you more than I ever thought possible.... I'm so lucky to have you in my life and I want to spend the rest of mine with you.... Annabeth Chase, my Wise Girl, will you marry me?"

"Percy.... I-I.... Of course I will!" I leaned forward and kissed him. "I love you so much, Seaweed Brain."

He put the ring on my finger and I looked at it. At first glance, it seemed like a plain gold ring, but you could see an inscription written in Ancient Greek on it 'Better than blue food'

It was just so..... so Percy of him!

"Percy!" I laughed "I love it so much!.......Not as much as I love you, though" I added.

He pressed his soft lips against mine and I leaned into him, running my hands through his hair. He lay down on the blanket, pulling me on top of him. His arms wrapped around my waist, pulling me closer.

"I love you more than the colour blue." He whispered.

To people who didn't know Percy, that wouldn't seem like such a big thing, but to me, who knew him so well, I knew that that was the biggest compliment he could ever give anyone. I would hold onto that compliment for the rest of my life.

Percy liked me more than the colour blue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
