They heard it at the same time, together

the most amazing, beautiful sound 

they had ever heard in their life.

..........thump thump..........thump thump..........thump thump..........

Faith's heartbeat.........................

Sanem and Can were both breathtaken

by this, this sound, 

the sound of life.

From relief Sanem let a sigh out, "Our girl lives, Faith lives"

The vet had taken the stethoscope from them 

and laid one hand on Can's shoulder 

and his other on Sanem's shoulder.

"Your girl is going to be fine.

What a powerful and meaningful name, Faith, it suits her.

She is still sedated because her body needs rest 

and it will ease the pain from the surgery."

To reassure Sanem and Can he pinched them 

once softly in their shoulder. 

"Everything went well and she, in time, will recover totally."

This time they were happy tears welling up in Sanem's eyes.

She threw herself into Can's arms to hug him.

His eyes were also filled with happy tears, 

he could finally let them go.

He wanted to be brave for Sanem but Faith had, 

like Sanem, always been here for him so only 

the thought of losing her made him weak to his knees.

Sanem wiped her tears away 

and saw Faith laying there, sound a sleep.

Her lower body was covered with the sheet, 

she saw now that the wound was bandaged.

Sanem had placed her and Can's hand on Faith's chest, 

they were in awe to feel her chest rise and fall from her breathing.

Both caressing Faith's head and ears, 

they were whispering softly, sweet words to her.

Sanem chuckled, "Aren't we a mess, sobbing and crying here"

She turned to the vet and gave him a big hug. 

"Thank you, thank you, for saving our girl" the vet smiled how excited

Sanem wanted to be, not to loud to frighten Faith.

Out of respect she took his hand, 

kissed it and placed it to her forehead.

Can thanked him also, put his hand out into the vet's direction,
