Lilly's P.O.V.
"Whenever I see the sunset I think of you!
Ooo, ooo!
Whenever I see the sunset."
Music blared in my ears as I sat on the bench by the pond drawing people and their kids, playing in the park. My bodyguard, John, was a few feet behind me, watching everyone with a cold stare behind his sunglasses. Yep. This is my normal day.
Me sitting in the park drawing, my mom's songs playing through my earbuds, and John observing everything. Sound weird? Believe me, I know.
"Sure you don't want to sit down?" I asked John, turning around to face him.
"I am quite sure Ms. Cox," he responded in a dull tone.
"Haven't we talked about this? You can call me Lilly! Ms. Cox is too formal!" I exclaimed raising my arms.
"With all due respect, that would not be appropriate," I groaned in annoyance before turning back around. I pushed my sunglasses up. They were only part of my disguise. Along with having a bodyguard I needed to wear a disguise. I would wear a large hate and ugly sunglasses. I would have to put on a blonde wig to cover up my black hair. Then I would wear a t-shirt and some jeans to complete the look. I wasn't a fan of the disguise, but every time I fought my parents on it, they refused.
I quickly finished up my sketch and then packed up all of my belongings and slipped them in my backpack. I turned of the music and put my phone and headphones in a smaller pocket. I stood up and walked towards the direction of my mansion. I had lived in my mansion all my life, but my family did a lot of traveling. I wasn't sure if I would ever leave it, given that I'm 23 and still living with my parents. I walked up the driveway and stopped looking at it.
My Mansion:I sighed and entered my home. I opened the door and immediately heard the TV playing. Nathaniel must be home.
Nathaniel was my older brother by 2 years at the age of 25. He had a wife and they'd only been married for a few months. His wife was named Ali and he loved her like crazy. Nathaniel has his own home that he shares with Ali, so I was confused as to why he was home.
I walked through the house to the living room where, just as I had expected, Nathaniel was sitting there watching football. However Ali was with him as well which made me more confused.
"Hey you 2. What's up?" I asked. Ali turned at my voice then got up and came over to me.
"Lilly! It's so good to see you! As a matter of fact we are here for you!" She exclaimed. I made a confused face.
"What do you mean? My birthday was months ago. There is nothing special going on," I was very confused. Why were they here for me?
"You mean you don't know?" Her faced was mixed with worry and confusion.
"Don't know what? What is going on?!" I yelled. Nathaniel sighed and got up. "Nathaniel do you know what's going on?" I asked carefully.
"Yes. Yes I do. But you aren't going to be happy," he responded to my question hesitantly.
"Now what do you mean by that?" I asked crossing my arms.
"Maybe you should sit down,"
"No! Nathaniel just tell me!" I shouted. One thing to know about me was that I had a temper. A bad temper.
"Not sure how to put this, but your getting married. Mom and Dad made an arrangement for you to marry the son of their friends. The dinner party where he will propose to you is tomorrow. I thought Mom told you. We both did," I was speechless. I didn't say anything. All my life I had to act a certain way in front of the cameras and everywhere else. I always knew I would have to marry someone through an arrangement if I didn't find someone on my own. I took a deep breath and looked at the ground.
"I know you thought I knew. I have to talk to Mom though about this." I said it quietly and then walked to my parents room. I knocked on the door twice.
"Come in!" I heard my mom's muffled voice through the door. I opened it up and walked inside. My mom was sitting at her desk with her notebook. It was where she wrote all of her songs. "Hi sweetheart! How are you?" She asked cheerfully.
"Why didn't you tell me?" I asked her ignoring the question she asked.
"Tell you what?" She responded nervously.
"That I would be marrying your friends' son." I looked at her eyes. They were identical to mine. Just as the hair. I had inherited almost everything from my mother.
"Sit down honey." I did as I was told and looked at her in her eyes. "I wanted to tell you, but I couldn't. I knew how much you would hate it so I put it off. So I waited. I went through the same thing," she said.
"I know." Everyone knew. They were the cutest, and most famous couple. "But still."
"Yes well, another reason I didn't want to tell you because of the boy you'll be marrying." I raised a brow in confusion. "It's Thomas Wilson."
"What?!" I screamed standing up so fast the chair fell. "Mom you can't be serious! He's a woman hunter! A bachelor! He changes women faster than I can change my bra! Mom I can't marry him!" Tears formed in my eyes, but I refused to let them fall.
"Lilly you have to. I know you don't want this, but please. I went through the same thing and now look at me. I'm love your father dearly when years ago I hated his guts. Besides his parents chose you for a reason. Their son's image isn't good at all and they thought you could change him."
"What can I do? He's messed up in his thoughts. He doesn't believe in love at all. Every single interview he's in shows you that," more tears threatened to come down on my cheeks, but I quickly wiped them away.
"Lilly, you of course can change his mind about love. Your words are so powerful. You have changed the thoughts of so many people with you speeches you've made at those events. Lilly please?" She looked at me and I saw tears in her eyes. We rarely ever fought. I was so close to my mother I wouldn't let this come between me and her.
"I'll do it. But you have to help me get ready," her eyes lit up when I said this.
"Mother and daughter night!" She shouted happily. I just laughed and she brought me outside and I instantly knew I would the sunglasses. We were going shopping!
