Lilly's P.O.V.
I woke up feeling a pressure on my waist. I opened my eyes and saw Thomas laying beside me, wrapping me up in his arms. I blushed and started scanning my brain to remember what had happened. The dance, Thomas proposing, us kissing, us kissing again in the limo, not being able to sleep, watching a movie with Thomas, and falling asleep in his bed all came to my mind. I was now crimson at this point and slowly tried to get out of the bed.
As I made my move, Thomas held me tighter in response. I sighed and tried lifting his arms, but they wouldn't budge. He pulled me tighter and I fell against his chest.
"Don't go." Thomas murmured into my ear.
"I have to shower. It's not like I'm leaving you for good." I told him. His arms never let go. "Thomas let go." I scolded.
"No." Was all he responded with.
"Fine, I guess the marriage is off." I said and a breathy tone. Thomas instantly let go me, which made me go flying off the bed with a loud thud. I could hear Thomas's laugh from the floor. "I hate you."I muttered. Sadly he heard it.
"No you don't." Suddenly a phone rang. I checked mine, but no one was calling me.
"Not me." I said blandly. The ringing stopped and Thomas walked out of the room holding a phone to his ear. I sighed and shook my head. I stood up from the floor and walked out of the room to change into an outfit. Today I was going to be planning the wedding again. (I'm not sure if you remember, but in a previous chapter Lilly went to a wedding planner and she's going to do it again). I went through my closet and found a simple dress to wear. It was red with polka dots and very adorable.
My Outfit:
After getting dressed I slid on a pair of white flats and quickly brushed my teeth and hair. Finally I grabbed my purse and phone and walked out of the house, quickly driving to the wedding planner.Thomas's P.O.V.
My phone started ringing and I quickly grabbed it. It was my father calling me. I instantly picked it up. Honestly, I was scared of what my father had to say. After all, he always demanded to be respected and took no shit from anyone. Something I gave him a lot.
"Hello father. Can I help you?" I asked formally.
"Don't act stupid with me! What were you thinking?!" He screamed into the phone. I held the phone away from my ear for a minute before putting against my ear.
"What are you talking about?" I asked tiredly. I rubbed my hand down my face. Why was my father so angry?
"I'm talking about that scandal you pulled with Lillian Cox! That could have had us ruined! This was for a deal! She is the deal. You marry her, we merge companies with her father, and then you two divorce! How is that so hard for you to grasp?!" That made me snap.
"She is no deal! I love Lilly and that's final. How is that so hard for you to grasp?!" I shouted into the phone.
"Please son. You aren't capable of love. What happened to being a bachelor?" My dad scoffed.
"What happened to that slut you fucked when you were still married to mom. Have you filed the divorce yet or are you still trying to hide it from her? Tell me dad what happened? I've changed, and if you can't accept that, then you can stay out of my life. I'm marrying Lilly and staying married." I knew I hit a weak spot on my dad. Truth was he did cheat on my mom and she never found out.
"You don't speak of that. And I have changed. I love your mother." My father responded. That was a lie and he knew it. "You son haven't changed. I know you better than you think."
"Then where were you? Where were you when I needed you most? When I was depressed, when I almost lost my brother. His treatment is today. Did you know that? Since you apparently know everything about your sons. Where are you? Are you with your dying son or are you with your work? What's more important: your family or your work. You would answer your work because you are a cold, heartless, jackass that doesn't deserve any love since he can't give any." And with that I hung up on the phone.
For once I was glad Lilly left because I didn't want her to hear my argument with my dad. She didn't need to know what he did and who he really was. I never understood how her father was friends with mine. My dad didn't deserve any love because he couldn't love anyone back.
I shook my thoughts away and went to get dressed for work. I knew Lilly was planning the wedding, but I needed to work. Plus she wanted to do most of it alone. I walked into my closet and grabbed a suit and slid it over my body. I looked at my hair and combed it a little. I didn't feel like breakfast as usual, so I just brushed my teeth now. After that I quickly grabbed my brief case and walked out the door to my car, driving to my office.
Once I arrived I walked into the building and went up the elevator to my office. I walked in my office and stopped short. There, stood my dad and my mom. Upon seeing my father I glared at him. Why in the world did he come here?
"Is it true? Do you really love her?" My mom asked carefully. I cou,d tears in her eyes. Whether they were tears of joy or tears of sadness, I'm not sure. The 'her' my mom said was referring to Lilly.
"I do. More than I thought I would ever be able to love anyone." That was my response. My mom smiled so wide and hugged me. I was shocked, but I hugged my mom back. Now I knew why she was crying. Because she couldn't believe I grew to love someone.
"I must talk to her. I need to talk to the girl that changed you so much as to be able to love." My mom declared. Tears were falling out of her eyes. I smiled back, but it almost faltered at the sight of my dad being so stone like. Almost.
"She's busy planning the wedding, but I'm sure she won't mind being interrupted by your presence." I told her.
"I already love Lillian." She said to me.
"She hates that name. I suggest calling her Lilly. Much less formal and more her." My moms smile widened.
"Well now that I know she is perfect for you I must go see her now. Where is the place she is at?" I told my mom where she would find Lilly and I told her to take my car, but to bring it back because I needed to talk to my father. She left quickly and I then glared at my dad.
"Why are you here? Clearly you aren't happy for me and you hate Lilly, so what do you want?" I asked coldly. My father and I never had a good relationship ever since I figured out he'd cheated on my mom. There were times though my father was nice. Like at my engagement party. He seemed happy and nice, that was rare. He was happy because he got to see his friend, Aaron Cox, and because our companies were going to merge soon.
"You have it wrong son. I do not hate Lillian. She is sweet, kind, and would make an amazing spouse. In fact I love Lilly as my own daughter. And I am happy for you. I am just surprised. Just one month ago, you claimed you would never be able to love. You claimed it wasn't real and that it was stupid. However, now you say you love a girl so much you can't imagine what it would be like to lose her." I nodded at what my father was saying, but I still wanted to know why he was so angry with me.
"Then why are you so angry with me?" I asked him. My father started walking around the room, and I instantly knew what that meant. He was nervous. It was common among men who are of the Wilson decent to pace when he was nervous.
"I love Lillian as my own daughter. I watched the child grow up and become a woman. I know I may see incapable of love given I have cheated on your mother, but I have changed. You said your mother does not know of my cheating, but she does. I told Claire what had happened and we didn't talk for a week. But then I took all the courage I had and apologized and asked for her forgiveness and another chance. She gave me one, but she told me I had to work to gain her trust again. I worked for it, and I got it. I'm angry, because you thought I was a cruel man. All I wanted was for you to love me. I do love you and your brother. I know I need to work on my priorities, but I work so I can provide for you. Please son. Give me a chance. I know I've been distant, but that is just who I am." He pleaded. I looked at the ground.
"Ok. I'll give you a chance to be a good father but on one condition. You pay attention to me and my brother. When given the option between family and work choose family." My father nodded and smiled at me.
"Ok. However we have to make a deal on you and Lilly. I will only let you marry her if you treat her right. If you hurt her once I swear I will keep her from your clutches." I laughed and hugged my dad.
"Deal. However you should probably know I hit her." I muttered.
"Thomas! Why would you do that?! I swear Thomas that marriage is off you hear me?! How could you do that to her?!?" My father shouted getting red from anger.
"It was an honest mistake. She's forgiven me and so has her brother who she told. She is giving me another chance and we agreed that if I hurt her again she can walk out on me. And by the way, I am still marrying her. Also mom gave you another chance." My father sighed in defeat realizing I had won.
"Hurt her again, I'll hurt you 10 times worse." I laughed and my father and I discussed random topics until my mother came back with Lilly. "Lillian my dear! It's amazing to see you again." Lilly laughed and hugged my dad.
"How many times have I told you? Call me Lilly." She was smiling wide and turned her head to face me. She walked up and gave me a quick kiss on the cheek. I hugged her from behind at her waist and set my chin on her shoulder. She smiled and my family and Lilly continued talking.Time Skip
"Bye Lilly. It was amazing meeting you." My mom hugged Lilly and got in the car with my dad. They drove away and as soon as they were gone and put my lips on Lilly's. The kiss was short and not enough, but I at least got to kiss her. I would have been able to do it all day if she let me.
"How about we eat out tonight? I want to show you off to all those men and show them that you are mine." I asked her. Lilly smiled and nodded.
"Where to?" She strung her hands around my neck and looked into my eyes.
"Somewhere fancy. We'll get dressed and then go out."
"Then let's be quick. Me being me, I need a lot of time." I laughed and we left to go to my car and drove home. That's it for that chapter! Thank you so much for reading my story! I am loving where this is going and I know I already said this like 10 times but I do not care! I love writing these types of stories. And don't you dare blame me! 😊
