It had been a few hours since breakfest, putting the time in the afternoon around supper. Even though she had spent her day helping the servants do chores correctly ( for once ), she wasn't in any way ready to face the daunting Earl awaiting her. The anxiousness kept her dazing off and more tensed than usual with confrentations.

(y/n)'s pov

I'm so worried... Ciel said he wouldn't send me back to my father, but after this.. What if he changed his mind? I already understand his complexity, but I still don't know about his impulsivities, even if he has any.. What if-

I jumped at the proximity between me and the snapping hand in front of me. I looked to face Bard with a confused and annoyed expression. "Miss- I mean (y/n), are you alright? You've been spacing out all day."

"Please don't worry about me; I'm quite alright." I forced a smile, almost just as good as any other true one.

"Alright.. Also, the Master wanted to see you today, but since you refused to eat, he wants to see you in his office." Scratching his head, he looked around before turning back to me. "Finally, without Sebastian, I can make his tea-"

"Bard no!" I exclaimed,  slightly slapping his hand from grabbing the tea cart. "We all know you can't make tea, let alone cook. I'll be going up there anyways, let me bring it." Suggesting bringing up the tea completely got off the subject of me missing dinner, which I knew everyone was clearly upset about. The look on Finny, Mey-Rin, and Bard's faces were all the same; The same worried and agitated look.

"Are you sure? I mean won't Master Ciel and Sebastian get upset?" Bard questioned

"Surely they won't. I'm just bringing up tea." I smiled, waving it off. Stepping over the tea, I quickly prepared it and made sure everything was in place. Suprisingly, the little dessert of sponge cake was already there when I got there, so I assumed Sebastian made it before leaving to correct Mey-Rin of a cleaning error.

I waved to Bard with a smile before leaving with the cart, rolling it to my fated doom. Through each step I grew nearer, and through every step, the more I wished to turn and run away.  I wasn't quite sure why I feared Ciel Phantomhive; He was the same age as me anyways, so why be afraid? I would say he intimidates me, but in most cases I show no response toward his threats. But today, this was different, for I was in the wrong.

Before realizing it, I had already made it to the study. I knocked softly before starting

"Ciel, may I come in?" I asked, hoping he was in a better mood than what I expected of him. "No, I'm busy." I was lost at words. He calls me, then denies me on entering? "But..." "I said no. Now leave."

I couldn't explain the emotion I felt even if I tried. I just snapped for some reason. "Ciel Phantomhive, I know you are not busy, so please, stop being difficult."

"And how do you know?" The Earl questioned, irritation lining his voice with black coated venom.

"You're not busy. In fact, you're not even doing anything." I said throught the door. "I know this because you're tapping your foot at an even pace, you're not twirling your pen, and you're breathing is normal and slow. I could go on with the facts to prove myself." Without saying anything else, I opened the door to find just that, the irritated bluenette with a disapproved look gracing his features.

I pushed the tea cart through the door and shut the door behind me. Pulling the cart up, I began placing things down.

"How did you know all that? You weren't even in the room." Ciel picked up his earl grey and took a sip, then placing it down to send a glare toward me.
