- (y/n)'s pov -
The soothing pitter-patter echoed throughout the room. Nothing was said nor felt. It was a melancholy feeling. The cold feeling sent a shiver down my spine from the window as I pressed my head into it. Each raindrop fell like the last. It was.. peaceful. Rather, too peaceful.
The warm days turned cold, and as time passed, it was the eerily feeling that stayed above the Lord Phantomhive and the Queen of Hearts. The Library was quiet other than the soft rain in the back of her head. It seemed like a good day to read a book; maybe a classic, she didn't know. The thought of reading a book seemed pleasant, but she didn't feel like it. Just sitting there on the Library windowsill watching the raindrops race down was what she did.
"(y/n)?"
She turned her head to the sound of the voice, only to find Sebastian. "Yes, Sebastian?"
"The young master wishes to see you." The butler held his hand out to me, waiting. I had the slightest clue of what he wanted, but then again, it was the infamous Ciel Phantomhive that I was questioning. Who really knew what he could want; But she did, of course. But why ruin the fun?
Walking through the halls, we arrived in the office, to see the young Lord seeming annoyed.
"Why, what's wrong Phantomhive?" It had been around two weeks or so since the last event, and I soon picked up the nickname 'Phantomhive' for the young master. It looked annoyed him at first glance, but I knew he wasn't upset, but content I wasn't being as formal.
I came and sat down at the seat across from his, crossing my legs and setting my hands in my lap. Snapping his fingers, he sent a glare to Sebastian, which unsurprisingly, Sebastian understood, and left the room.
"When are they coming already?" Ciel drummed his fingers on his desk with his other hand occupied by holding his head upon his elbow.
"Who?" I faked knowingly.
"Your father of course!" Growling, he slammed his fist down on the desk, making you flinch slightly, but it went unnoticed.
"Phantomhive, I cannot predict when he's going to come. For all we know, he could be on his way now." I huffed, crossing my arms, trying to wave off the little heart skip I just had over the loud bang.
Ciel was about to speak, when Sebastian saved me once more by waltzing into the room with the tea. "Young Master, you must have patience." He smiled setting the tea set down.
The blue-eyed male grumbled underneath his breath, though I couldn't exactly tell what he was going on about.
I picking up the teacup delicately, as if it could break with a wrong move. Taking a sip, I watched the two men in the room with amusement in my eyes.
"I can't exactly be patient when there's nothing to do! I have no work, so what am I supposed to do."
"Well young master, you could spend time with your partner." Sebastian grinned, eyes flickering to me. I almost choked on my tea, and quickly set the cup back down.
"Sebastian, if you are trying to say something, I suggest you bite it back," Ciel growled.
"Why, master, I wouldn't dream of such a thing. You see, (y/n) was in the library when I was escorting her here. You may find some entertainment in there with Miss (y/n)." You may have been amused a second ago, but now that had been somehow transferred to the butler, who now is enjoying the scene.
Ciel sighed, waving his hand. "You might as well move the tea into the library then. (y/n), let us go."
I sighed after, getting up along with him to walk out of the room, toward my original starting point, the library.
"Why were you in the library anyway?" As we walked down the hall, we furthered closer to the room.
"I don't know," I replied with a shrug. It wasn't like I was actually doing anything anyways.
Walking into the spacious room, Ciel immediately went to a chair a dropped into it with a huff. As he did that, I decided to scan the multitudes of shelves filled with books. Running my finger over each book, I stopped at a book in bold lettering: 'Taming of the Shrew'. I grabbed the book, sitting in the chair adjacent to Ciel's.
"Taming of the Shrew, a Shakespeare work hm?" I looked over to him, with his eyebrow cocked.
"Mhm." I smiled in reply, looking down at the book. Tracing the lettering of the name, I opened the book to a random page.
"Why that book? It's not exactly popular, and it's a comedy." The earl scoffed.
"Back there... I wasn't exactly allowed to own anything, and I wasn't allowed to read as well. I stole this book and read it every day... Well at least until he found out. I was punished and it was taken away, but I managed to rip out a page and keep it."
Ciel watched her intently, becoming more curious now than before. It wasn't common for her to talk about her home, or her life before the Phantomhive's unless business-related. "Just a page?"
"Correct. And I still have it to this day." She smiled, looking back up at the Phantomhive. "Humorous, isn't it? With the background of myself, and one of the only books I ever came into contact with was a prejudice book in degrading women, basically."
A silence drifted upon them, only the soft rain could be heard in the library. The earl looked back to (y/n), and then shifted his gaze somewhere else. She was in the middle of the book, though he couldn't tell where she was in the pages. "..Which page did you save?"
"It's Kate's monologue at the end of the book. Something I remember by heart."
"Hm."
They found themselves at a peaceful silence now, reading and drinking tea in the old library of Phantomhive manor until late. Without a word spoken, it was evidential that even if there were no words, a bond was there anyways.

I decided to continue this, only because I can't leave something unfinished, and who knows, maybe it'll get more recognition. I'm going to be fixing stuff and making it more aesthetic for my taste. Also please go look at the conversations posted on my page, so it'll have more updates of things going on! And I promise, though it doesn't seem as such, things are gonna get juicy ;)
