Why do people fall? What in the world compels every day people to fall? Do people fall when they know they'll be caught? When they have hope? Or does it happen unexpectedly?

"Nessa, you need to get up. You have to get ready." Lucy's voice is soft and sweet making her request even sweeter.

"Why?" I question flipping over to face her.

"Detective Greenspan is going to be here in 30 minutes to take you to the police station. He has some questions for you." Lucy states wringing her hands nervously.

"Ugh, fine. I'm up," I say rolling out of bed. "Thanks Lucy," I smile at her and she waves leaving me alone.

~ later ~

"Good morning Ms. Mitchell" Detective Greenspan says from the drivers seat.

"Morning," I mumble and turn my hands over examining my worn gloves. I'm going to need new ones soon.

"Hopefully this will be the last time we have questions for you before the trial." He admits.

"Me too," I mumble.

~ later ~

"You're claiming you didn't commit the crime, correct?" He looks up from his notepad.

"Yes, that's what I've been saying this whole time." I snark and he glares at me. Putting my hands up I shrug.

"Who do you think would want to hurt you or your family?

"Me?" I question.

"Ms. Mitchell, who wanted to hurt your family?" He demands.

"Courtney Rhodes, Adam Stevens, and Reid Larson." I say. He nods and writes down each name. "Now tell me why someone wants to hurt me?" I demand. He looks at me and takes a deep breath.

"We received an anonymous tip that you've been followed. The tip also sent a note." He says handing me the note.

"What the hell," I say shaking

"What the hell," I say shaking.

"Ms. Mitchell... I mean Nessa no harm is going to come to you." He promises looking me in the eyes. I nod and stand up. "Also, you will have police escorts with you just until this is resolved."

"Okay," I say nervously.

Leaving the station with the officer at my side I'm terrified. What if the person whose stalking me killed my family? What if they want to finish the job?

"Ms. Mitchell? Where do you want to go?" The officer asks me.

"Please call me Nessa, and I need to see Archer." I say and he nods.

"Do you need to call?" I nod pulling out my phone.

"Hey, you've reached Archer! Leave a message!"

"Shit!" I yell and run.

"Nessa!" I hear him yell. Ignoring him I run. I need to see Archer. Now! My feet hit the floor faster than ever, so when I reach his door I have to breathe before I knock. Then. I knock and the door swings open. Standing there in all his glory is Archer.

"V?" He asks and I run to him ignoring the officer behind me.

"Ms. Mitchell," I turn still in Archer's arms, "you can't run away like that."

"Sorry," I whisper leaning into Archer's arms.

"V? What's going on?" He asks.

"You've missed a lot," I admit looking up at him.
