Life.

I think people take this for granted. They latch onto the idea that they are currently here, which is more than enough. Unfortunately, they forget that immortality isn't possible. This means that they take things for granted. Thinking that their enemy is sickness, war, or death. When in reality, it's time. There is never enough time.

"V," Archer's voice pulls me out of sleep. My eyes flicker open and I see Archer sitting by me.

"Morning," I mumble digging my head into his lap. His hand comes to my back, rubbing soothingly.

"How did you sleep?" he asks.

"Meh," I say looking up at him.

"I'm sorry,"

"It's okay," I say sitting up. His arms wrap around my waist and his head burrows into my hair.

"What do you want to do today, V?"

"Can we just order Chinese food, play card games, and watch moves?" I smile at him. His eyes sparkle and he nods.

"Get some comfies on. I'll go order food and turn the tv on." He says leaving me on the bed.

I roll out of bed and take a shower. Throwing one of Archer's sweaters on and my shorts I hear him singing in the kitchen.

Running up behind him I jump on his back and his hands wrap around my thighs.

"Someone's happy today," he whispers making popcorn.

"Mhm," I say, "you make me happy." He backs up and swings me around so my legs are around his hips and I squeal.

"You're amazing," He whispers kissing my forehead, cheek, nose, and lips.

"I love you," I whisper against his lips and smirk.

"I love you too," he says forgetting the popcorn. The smell of burning popcorn fills the air and he yells, "Shit!" Leaving me laughing on the counter. After he takes the popcorn off he walks up to me scowling. "You're such a distraction," he murmurs.

"Yeah?" I ask rubbing my thumbs down his sides. He groans and pulls me off the counter intertwining his fingers with mine.

"Let's go watch a movie before I do something I'll regret," his voice rumbles and I blush at the thought.

- later -

The rest of the night passes in a flash of moments, memories, glances, and soft caresses. Yet as everyone knows these moments don't last. The pleasent ones never seem to.
